Description Gold Ribbon Rescue, Inc. (GRR) was founded in 1998 to meet three objectives. We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization as recognized by the IRS. GRR's main function is to provide a network for sheltering, rehabilitation and placing Golden Retrievers in permanent homes in Central Texas. GRR’s second function is to provide public education about responsible dog ownership and, in particular, about the Golden Retriever breed. Third, GRR provides a forum for Golden Retriever fanciers to meet.

We recently adopted our golden retriever, Sammy, through Gold Ribbon Rescue (GRR), and we couldn't be happier with the experience! GRR has a very thorough adoption process, ensuring that each dog is matched with the right family. This included a detailed interview process to understand our needs and lifestyle. The entire adoption process was extremely organized, making the experience smooth and stress-free. Every volunteer we interacted with genuinely cared about the dogs and their well-being. Their passion for what they do is truly inspiring. GRR makes sure each golden retriever is up to date on immunizations and receives a comprehensive vet check before adoption. Adopting from GRR is a wonderful alternative to buying from a breeder. Not only do you give a dog a second chance, but you also support the mission of rescuing and rehoming dogs in need. Each volunteer was a joy to work with, and they made the process of finding our new addition, Sammy, a delightful experience. If you're considering adding a golden retriever to your family, I highly recommend Gold Ribbon Rescue!

We have fostered multiple Golden Retrievers, short and long term, as well as adopted 2 precious dogs, one a senior, one a puppy, from gold ribbon rescue. The process was transparent, easy to understand and it was so obvious that the well being of each dog was of the utmost importance. I will continue to recommend GRR as an excellent example of rescue here in Central Texas.

We've worked with GRR over the last year as both an adopter and later a volunteer. We are the now proud pet parents of Peony 19-037C. We absolutely loved the match making process, already having an older pup in the home it was important that our new dog fit in with the rest of the family, from application to pup placement it was about 3 months. For those interested in adopting in the future know that though the process may feel lengthy at times it worth the wait. Your match maker is looking for find a dog that is going to fit with you FOREVER. We will definitely be adopting all future dogs from GRR

We had a wonderful experience working with the entire Gold Ribbon Rescue team who helped match us with our golden mix puppy. The application process is very thorough and we worked with several volunteers which included a nice home visit by Raelle and her handsome Golden to our home to meet the entire family. Special shout out to Alissa who, honestly, is one of the most professional contract reviewers I've ever worked with. Start to Finish it was a great experience and we were matched with our puppy Luna who's been a shining star in our family! We could not be happier. The foster family did an amazing job getting all the puppies off to a great start, which we are grateful for as well. We will certainly work with GRR in the future to add to our pack when the time comes.
