Everyone was nice and super helpful. I went in to just look and came out with a new puppy. Super happy with my experience. He was 14 weeks and only had to puppy pad train for 24hrs. He is so smart and good! No accidents! Thank you! Jamie
We love our sweet little Penny. The experience to get her was amazing. The staff was extremely amazing and helpful. However, when we got her home she started choking and coughing. We didn't notice it at the store but did as soon as we walked in the door at home. We had to take her to the doctors twice (the day after purchasing and the next day after that) to see what was wrong. She ended up having Kennel Cough and it was a nightmare trying to get her to eat or drink anything for days. I just wish they would take their time disbursing puppies out. Check 100% to make sure they are in good health before you sell. Luckily after all the testings were done, she didn't have anything else like a parasite or something.
I didn't look at the reviews on Petland before getting my puppy so I wasn't aware that they sold sick animals to people for such a high amount of price. My coworker told me the stories at petland which made me look at the review after getting my puppy. I was scared that it will happen to me and it did... We purchased our 2 month Mini Dachshund at Petland May 19th 2024 and immediately took her to the vet they recommended at PetNest because of her coughing and she was pooing blood.so we took her on the third day after we got her. She got diagnosed with Giardia, hookworm, and coccidia! and so we got send home with medication that was suppose to help her with the parasites. Within a week she gotten worse under the medication. She became weaker and struggled to breath. She also refused to eat, drink, and play. She didnt even want to eat her favorite treat and peanut butter. We had to force feed her. All she wanted to do was to hide in my arms and try to control her breathing. I took her again to Petnest because she looked like she was in so much pain and it hurt me so much to see my new puppy like this. They agreed that the puppy looked so much worse than the previous visit. The vet told me that she didnt like the food that we were feeding her, which was the one that Petland gave us when we purchased the puppy. He told me to throw everything away that Petland gave us because it was trash and doesnt do good for the puppies... He also told us that we were pretty much starving her and the reason why she isnt as active was because she wasn't eating... which doesnt make sense to me because she even refused her treats and peanut butter, and chicken and even water. He sent me home with her with the same medication for the hook worms and two other medications and prescription food. He also injected her with fluid to help her hydration which left her a big lump on her body. I gave her the medications and she still wasnt improving. We changed the food and force feed her but she kept throwing up and her breathing became worse as well. We eventually took her to the Urgent Vet in Mckinney to take at look at her because PetNest was not helping her improve at all. Urgent Vet put her in a heat support and on oxygen mask... They told us that the parasite was eating her intestines and bacteria spread through her blood and had a super low chance of survival. They told us the best solution was to put her down which broke me so much... She was put down on June 3rd 2024. Not even a full month with her. Knowing of the stories of the puppies at petland and her getting sick, We still gave her so much love and made sure she had a better life with us. We miss her so much Weird thing is that before we made the final decision to purchase her, we told the associate employee that we were gonna wait a month to see if she's still around to take her. Employee said she wasn't going to be around in a month... very pushy about us getting the puppy. Wasnt sure if he knew about the conditions she had...
Petland has been so good with our dog. Kyle the dog trainer is so amazing. River is two years old, but she is instantly learning new stuff. He is teaching her self control and patience which is fantastic. I am so thankful that he is training her so well. Thank you Kyle.
This location asked me to give a good review and then forced me and my family out of the store. We only played with one puppy for 5 minutes. Next time we will visit the nearest location even if out of town.
Casio, pet trainer at Petland has been amazing with training our little puppy, Whiskey. Whiskey gets so excited to go each week and see Cairo! Whiskey listens to Cairo and has made great improvements with Cairo's training. Highly recommend using the training service of you purchas a puppy from Petland.
