My 2yo German shepherd Luna was a transfer patient from our primary vet… she was having horrible gastrointestinal issues and needed to be on an IV. The idea of surgery was floated as a possibility, but the doctors didn’t jump right to it. They gave her an IV, monitored her, and gave X-rays multiple times to watch what was going on in her tummy. Everyone we encountered there was so professional and kind, and I felt very comfortable and happy leaving my pup there overnight. I called many times to check up on Luna and the doctors and receptionists were so happy to give me info. It was a very nerve-wreaking time, but they made me and my girl feel so comfortable through the whole process!
AEC was absolutely fantastic and made my experience putting down my Rocky down as easy (as it could be). I have never put a fur baby down, however, the staff showed sympathy and explained the process from beginning to end. I will never forget the exceptional service I received. Although Rocky will be missed, I am holding on to the special memories he gave my family and his last moments that were filled with comfort from the staff. Thank you again!
The night my pet had surgery (at a different vet), I took her in because I gave her a second dose of the wrong medication. The lady at the front quickly put us in a room and said she was going back to tell the doctor what medication I gave my pet. After about an hour of sitting in the room with nobody coming in, I cut them some slack. They weren't super busy by any means but they had some other people there. Then ANOTHER HOUR goes by and the place is dead silent. Nobody else was there and I still haven't seen a vet. My pet was acting fine and it was almost midnight. When I walked back up to the front desk to tell the receptionists that I was leaving, I waited there for five minutes with nobody there. I shouted "hello?" to the back and still nobody came out. At that point, I walked out. If it was that urgent, the doctor would've come in. Even if they were busy and someone stopped in to say that they're a little behind, I would've respected that. This place was the biggest waste of time and absolutely no help.
I cannot express enough about The Animal Hospital in Rochester. They are the most caring people. We called ahead to ask if they could see our sick dog. They had us checked in and helped our dog quickly after we arrived. They told us what time they would call with updates and they called when they said they would. They were very thorough and quick to diagnose the problem we were dealing with. The whole staff from the front desk to the technicians, and doctors were amazing. We would highly recommend this hospital for your furry friends. Thank you Animal Hospital of Rochester for all you did for our Molly.
I never leave reviews but I have to share my amazing experience at AEC. My 3 year old dog Bleu was having an emergency early Sunday morning and I only found 2 emergency vets close by, AEC being one of them. I had never experienced an emergency like this with my dog but every staff member I encountered was extremely kind and attentive both on the phone and in person. They saw Bleu within 4 hours of calling (the other vet had a 6-8 hour wait). They were thorough with their tests, and patient in explaining to me that it was likely a blockage and my options. I was very emotional but it truly felt like they wanted to do their very best for my pup which eased my mind. They always followed up when they said they would and were ready to answer any question we had every time we called. She’s on the mend now, I appreciate the team at AEC so much!!
I cannot speak highly enough of every single staff member here. This is one of the few places that were willing to see my daughter's hedgehog on the same day for emergency service. From the people who checked us in, to the tech, to the doctor, they all went well beyond their duty; I felt compassion as if they knew and cared for my daughter's hedgehog just as we did. They never pressured us into any type of decision; they gave us a "bell ringer" so we could press it to indicate when they could come back into the room so we could proceed with the next phase after each decision we made. What a fantastic idea. Also there were tissues stocked and the room was very clean. Ultimately, my daughter's hedgehog had to be euthanized, but we have no regrets as the pros and cons of each decision were carefully explained to us. The staff member who checked us in, her shift ended probably a minute or two before we were leaving the facility and she waited outside for us to give us her condolences when she had no obligation to do so. So thoughtful. Though it is quite far for us, if we ever get another pet, this is the place we will bringing them to.
