I went in to adopt a kitten and was denied! Denied because one of my 2 cats got out and never came back. We searched for our cat for hours and hoped he would come back home and he never did. We left food and water out for him and even his cat bed. Its been 3+ months and we believe he will never come back. So not only do we have heart ache because we lost one of our beloved babies we get denied to having another one to love. I know we can't replace our lost baby but at least we can love another! I don't abuse animals and our pets are taken care of very well. We dont allow our cats outside and the one time our cat gets out by mistake makes me an unfit pet owner? Ridiculous! We love our animals! They are our babies! I was denied because the fear they have that the kitten would get out... so after they denied us to adopt the kitten they said to maybe adopt an older cat?? Makes absolutely no sense! I thought they were worried about the cat getting out🤷‍♀️ I'm not even sure if this is legal.. I feel completely horrible that this happened..

I have been a volunteer with Silver Lake Animal Rescue since 2010. I have also adopted animals from this organization. They are a wonderful, small, volunteer based organization. All fosters animals are housed within volunteers' homes.
