DR. Thiman and the team here made me feel so comfortable for years as we treated my baby, Cooper, for his cancers from 2020-23. We were here for surgery and chemo to battle cancer and the care and treatment gave us a few more years of life with an incurable cancer. I’m grateful and would recommend the oncology dept!! I miss him terribly, but really feel Dr. Jess helped us have as much healthy time together as possible despite his bladder and MCT cancers. Communication was always wonderful and she always listened, cared, and laid out our options for me to choose my best path.
I have had to take 2 fur babies (kitties) to Saint Francis within a year's time. Both times dealing with Saint Francis has been AMAZING!!! The care they give is so loving & professional. They have saved many Fur Babies including mine. Thanks Saint Francis.
Nothing but a money machine. They recommended I consider euthanasia for my cat three months ago and he’s still doing well with the exception of occasional vomiting. He was prescribed medicine for the nausea which I was told at the time of visit I could just call and get refilled as needed. Called today only to be told I would have to bring him in and pay even more money just to be told he has a problem we already know about to get the refill. The only option is an emergency visit which I’m sure will cost well over $1000 just to get a $50 prescription. They don’t care about your pets. They just want your money.
Our puppy was vomiting (occasionally) so I called to check the availability for a same-day appointment. The CSR took all of our required information and then told me that I could bring our puppy in at 9am. After checking in, the PARVO test was given ($126, he tested negative) and we were moved to a room. After about an hour of waiting, I was told that they do not schedule appointments and that their services are rendered similar to an ER - prioritized based on the type of emergency. I requested an estimate for when our puppy would be seen and they were not able to give me one because our puppy was not considered a priority. We left considering the misinformation (scheduling an appointment), my need to go to work (I could not wait indefinitely for our puppy to be seen by the vet), and that our puppy has a vet appointment scheduled for within the next few days.
Pretty terrible bedside manner. Cold, terse, and just kind of generally rude and unsympathetic. Made a likely diagnosis of stomach cancer and Recommended euthanasia for our cat because “he probably doesn’t have long” which we refused because we wanted to see how he may respond to the after care medication. With after care meds for nausea and a steroid, he bounced right back and it’s been 3 months. Called today because he vomited this morning and were told he needed to be brought back in before they would refill his meds. Originally we were told we just needed to call to refill. They are just trying to get us back in for an emergency visit for likely $800-$1000 just to be charged 80 bucks for a medication we ALREADY HAVE ESTABLISHED HE NEEDS. This place is awful. Wish we had listened to word of mouth by other unsatisfied pet owners.
My small dog suddenly became ill on a Sunday evening. We brought him to St. Frances and were able to be seen with a minimal wait. Unfortunately my dog was very ill and had to stay for 3 days but fortunately is on the mend now. The first vet that we spoke with gave us the option of leaving our dog at the hospital for treatment and monitoring or the less expensive option of taking him home with supportive care. We decided to leave him at the hospital which I feel was the best option for a good outcome. All of the veterinarians were very good at communicating and explaining the treatments and test results. We are very happy and relieved that our dog is back home.
