Like many others have said, Metro does not place the well being of animals first. While out shopping we had encountered a suspicious scene of people stuffing three dogs a piece into ranger dog kennels made for one dog on a “side by side” which are roughly are 54 1/2″ Wide, 36″ Deep, 24 1/2″ Tall. clearly three dogs into one side of these kennels is irresponsible and dangerous for these dogs because not only are they being shoved into a tight space with two other dogs but are suspended by being in the back of a “side by side” on top of a trailer. It’s bad enough they’re a kill shelter but not even wanting to intervene and investigate? They truly are lazy and have no care for animals in need.

went in with a stray cat and was told because we had kept her overnight it was going to be a owner surrender and tried to charge me $60 thus cat was starving and she looked like she was about to pass because she was so scared she wouldnt eat. I could not take her anywhere the night before as everywhere was closed a lady with a metro badge and a bulletproof vest was so incredibly disrespectful and not understanding. if you need this place be ready to be harrassed by disrespectful, unconcerned staff. all i wanted was for the stray a second chance . awful.

Total joke. Our dog was killed by our neighbor's dog after the other dog broke the wood fence and pulled our dog through the broken spot. Metro showed up more than 12 hrs later and didn't do a thing. That dog is running around his yard free to bark at my family and other dogs while my dog is dead. The officer who showed up immediately said it was clear to him that our dog was pulled through based off the evidence he saw. Metro failed our dog and the next dog this aggressive dog kills.

Would not recommend at all. The manage is a joke and most importantly their facility is absolutely disgusting. Poop is everywhere. It smells horrid and it’s like they never clean up or anything. They say they care about the well being of animals but the should be condemned building and management says otherwise

Staff was incredibly knowledgeable about the animals in their care! Kennel techs were helpful in matching our family with a furever friend!

We adopted our sweet 3mo Nico there but we wish we have room for all the cute animals that are there waiting for a new family and new opportunity to be loved! 🥹🩷
