The hospital is the best !!!! My cat is 15 and had to go to emergency one Saturday . The staff were so professional, helpful, caring . Basically, from the time we brought cinnamon in all staff was amazing !!! Janissa was so kind and patient dealing with me asking her 100 questions ! She really cares about your pet! Dr. Alamo was the vet . Wow - she is a gem !!!! So so caring and kind and so informative !!!! Cinnamon is doing great ! I have to say the next few days I was so depressed thinking my bestie was getting old and sick ! However she is doing excellent even with her special kidney diet food - 15 pounds ain’t gonna stop my girl from eating whatever I give …… I am so happy I found this place . I will continue to bring her for her checkups as little as possible so she won’t be so traumatized (she has a great easy condo life )- but I highly recommend VCA for everything !!!!! Great team they have there !!!!
I love VCA Hollywood! Shelby and Dr. Zapata take the best care of my sick boy, Lord Waffleton. My cat has had just about anything you can think of and they fix it all! I can tell they genuinely care about him and I know he’s in the best possible care.
The wonderful, caring, knowledgeable, and all-around fabulous VCA Hollywood team has cared for my dogs since 2016 and they are truly amazing. Case in point: today when I picked up my dog after a dental/mass removal procedure, he arrived wagging his tail in an extra special recovery shirt designed by his favorite, Emily. Yes, that is his name and a lightning bolt hand drawn onto the shirt and it will be framed and hung on my wall when no longer needed for recovery purposes. In addition, when my dog Apollo had to have his leg bandaged, the nurses decorated it with different color hearts, just to remind him what a special boy he is. Dr. Lukens, Dr. Heim, Dr. Vezzosi, Dr. Pizarro, and Dr. Hnot have all treated my dogs and provided excellent, kind, and compassionate care to them all (and to me, even when in high-maintenance mode). I will forever have a place in my heart for Dr. Heim and Dr. Lukens, especially, for their understanding and patience at a time when I was slowly losing my dog Gigi to cancer in the most compassionate way I could have asked for. Not to be forgotten, the front desk staff is amazing, and greet me and my dogs by name every time we walk in, as well as ask how things have been as if we were lifelong friends. We all feel truly loved. You cannot choose a better place or people to care for your fur babies.
Awful experience. If I could do negative stars I would. We just adopted a dog about 6 days ago. I called and made an appt and let them know my dog is dog aggressive and would need to be in an exam room asap. I was told I could call when I got there and let them know we were there. I tried calling when we were in the parking lot and no one answered. We went inside and let the front desk know she was dog aggressive and needed to go to an exam room asap but they just ignored us. Another dog came in to the waiting room and my dog was freaking out. They waited a couple minutes and told us to go into the hallway where the door was automatic and didn't close for about 30 seconds. When I was trying to weigh her the nurse wouldn't take the clipboard I was holding in order for me to do so. We waited in the exam room for 20 minutes and still had not been seen by the vet and our dog was having a lot of anxiety so we had to leave. I will never bring an animal here again.
I’ve got a big strong rescue mix with a ton of energy, but VCA was well equipped! The lobby is big enough for all the pets and parents to have their own space. It’s also very clean. Dr. Zapata and Shelby were so warm and genuine, I felt like we’d been going there for years even though it was our first visit. Thanks for taking such good care of my pup!
I wish I saw all the reviews before I went here. All the reviews are true... I'm too heartbroken over the loss of my dog but they gave me hope that he will make it. He died only a day after seeing them, after spending nearly 2k, they asked for a second payment while I was vulnerable, and they asked for it before I could even see my dog. Of course, I gave it to them. They had this paper that said I would pay anywhere between 1.2k and 1.8k for the visit and without everything in that list, I paid more than 1.8k. The doctor tried to use all this psychological nonsense on me and my family to get the money. She didn't even tell me the medical term she'd look for in her medical book while I went back home until my dog might be ready. No one even told me what that might have been to look up. They got their money and I got my sick dog back home to die the next day. At least, they got him some pain pills to ride it out. My grandmother died in Holy Cross hospital while they shoved her in a room with someone else on both their death beds. At least my dog died in the backyard with slightly more dignity. Can't believe this both happened in the US...
