They were very helpful when my dog got lost. Someone dropped her off and they went as far as calling the chip company because the dogs chip wasn't working. My dog was safe and happy, albeit a little scared. They took great care of her. Thank you!!

We recently had our first experience rescuing an animal and I have to say it was such a great experience with Paula at Joliet Animal Control. We had our eyes on a litter of kittens, but were a little apprehensive as we have an 8 year old male cat at home. I had so many (probably too many, ha!) questions and Paula had all the answers. When I initially called asking about them, I explained our home situation and how our 8 year old cat acts now and how he would act around another cat. She assured me she had a male kitten from the litter that would fit our family to a T. We have had our kitten for 12 days now and I have to say that we could not be more happy. Paula’s help and guidance helping us do a “slow introduction” between the two cats truly was/is amazing. We cannot thank her enough!

The staff is TERRIBLE MURDERERS!!! They have 2 1/2 year old dog CASPER beautiful dog 39 pounds We had multiple people willing to adopt this poor boy who they openly admit was a good boy with people they had scheduled euthanasia for July 23 at noon. The dog just does not get along with other dogs. The amount of ignorance and lack of empathy this place has is disgusting. We had families willing to pay for trainers and trainers willing to put in the work but the employee said she’s tired of hearing about the dog he’s gone. Yet they had him listed for adoption and a sweet boy!! These people were irritated with the phone calls and just decided they wanted to kill him. They have refused all of our people even with tons of land. They are terrible terrible terrible people.

The black cat "Peddles" was so cute and very friendly. It is hard to leave and not take these pets home.

If only i could elect not to pay the portions of my taxes that fund this slaughter house.. with that being said we had a friendly stray male outdoor cat that had been hanging around our home for months, in the last month he had become thin and was getting beat up by the other cats in the neighborhood. We decided to bring him JAC due to all the local humane societies being full and we are not in a position to foster him nor could we find a foster for him...being an outdoor cat in a cage is what you would expect...scary. when we brought him in we were told that he would be placed on a 7 day stray hold, we asked for a call if he was not claimed or on the list to euthanize. the front desk ladies were very cruel and scoring us for feeding him and trying to do right by him.. they kept calling him "feral" he was not feral, just scared and needed a chance. he was brought in on a Friday and when I called the following Tuesday I was told he was euthanized that same Friday afternoon within hours of being brought in for what we thought would be a chance at the care he needed and a loving home.. there is something sick going on here and when questioned why he was not even considered for a feral fixers or why we were not contacted as we would of claimed him back we got crickets for answers and just an apology that what is done can't be undone. Maybe if this was a dog there would of been a happier outcome. My heart is shattered knowing we signed the dotted line for his death.. JAC is vile for this and I know we are not the only ones who have experienced this...do your part write your township and joliet leadership. This cruelty cannot continue to happen.

Unhelpful smart mouth workers who didn’t bother to give any information about where to take a stray animal since it was found right across from Joliet but not IN Joliet. DONT understand how it’s called an animal rescue yet an animal in need of being off the street is denied 🤷🏻‍♀️
