Easiest adoption process ever. You don't have 15 pages of questions/references to fill out. The 2 page application only asks the relevant questions, nothing more. I was in and out with a new forever member of my family in less than an hour. Doesn't take days like rescues do. If you have current pets, be sure to bring in your current rabies certificates. If you don't have them, they will just call to verify with your vet while you wait. My vet just happened to be closed on the day I went to adopt so I had to run back home to grab the certificates. I live nearby so it wasn't an issue. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable too and eager to find good homes for the animals they have for adoption; so adopting from here didn't require having to jump through hoops. I recommend and will definitely adopt from here again when the time comes.

Our favorite local animal shelter. The employees have a passion for the animals collected or relinquished to their care. We enjoy volunteering often to take care of the dogs and cats housed as well as assist the staff. A worthwhile organization to donate pet food, towels, cleaning supplies, treats and toys to. Adopt don't shop. Looking forward to see the new city shelter being built adjacent to the police station.

I fell in love with this dog. Unfortunately I can’t adopt a special needs dog because of the required training needed. Please someone adopt this beautiful dog who can give him the love and support he needs!

Being a good citizen and an animal lover I picked up a stray cat that was very emaciated, mattes in its hair, blind, and probably really sick. We went to this place to get help for this cat and not only was I questioned like I brought in a dead body in but threatened to pull cameras of where we picked the poor cat up. We just took the cat and left because obviously they did not care and if that be the case then go find another job where you don’t have to deal with people who have hearts and trying to save a poor animal in need. I feel sorry for whoever Shari D Coleman is because this place and its workers are a disgrace to her legacy! WOW!

Initially I went to this location with our Girl Scout Troop. We called twice before to set this up and they told us what time to be there and that they had stuff planned for us. When we arrived they acted surprised we were there. Talked to the girls less than 5 minutes and left us. It was very weird, they could have just declined a tour. I am also looking for a dog. I looked at the website before hand and had one picked out that I wanted to meet. My daughter made a connection with this dog and we were very excited. Filled out the paperwork, ect. I needed to get my cats up to date on their shots (appointment is today) and then I was supposed to be able to get her. I called to let them know the appointment so I could arrange pickup. They told me she was "tagged for rescue" after I left and I couldn't have her. They told me I would have to contact the rescue but refused to give me any info on the rescue. The only thing they would say is that it is "Houston pet hub". I looked online and could not find any info. Isn't the whole point to get these animals into a good home? My 6 year old connected with this dog and I don't know how to tell her that mama can't make it happen and I don't have a good reason why. We are gonna keep trying to find the dog but I don't have much hope. Thank you Pearland Animal Shelter for nothing. Enjoy our donation.
