I wouldn't EVER recommend ANYONE bring their pets to PVS. The male vet, Jon Michler, that works in Texas City, who does the clinics at League City, Pearland and Bayou Animal Services said to me..."Dogs are allergic to all but 3 foods, Science Diet, Royal Canin and (insert random other brand he gets kickback on), if you match their treats with their food, your dog won't have allergies anymore." Well we had already tried 2/3 of those brands and guess what, my dog is allergic to everything but lamb, not a brand of food. That's not how dog allergies work, they're allergic to certain proteins. Thank God I am very informed in the field about veterinary medicine as I was a lead LVT for years, who knows how many people he's led astray with their pets. He then gave my service dog his rabies vaccine in his UPPER leg instead of lower (if he gets a sarcoma, his entire leg would have to come off and would no longer be useable as a SD). He also tried to HARD sell me ProHeart for my MDR1+ dog, who we had just discussed being MDR1+...ProHeart can kill dogs immediately with the MDR1 gene. It can also cause them debilitating seizure disorders. As if that wasn't enough, I adopted a very sick kitten from a local shelter-this is in NO WAY their fault, it is 100% the vets. He had a double enucleation by this doctor I assume, his incision was EXTREMELY infected. I have progression photos of the swelling and subsequent cavity in his face if anyone wants to see horrific it was and how he would've let my sweet kitten stay that way if he'd been at the shelter. I promise you, if I hadn't gotten him 3 weeks early and spent an extra $200 to get his socket flushed out and serious antibiotics, he would've died in that kennel before his Rabies vaccine was given and could be officially adopted. One of the girls texted him what she should do about his eye being infected, his exact response was, "I suggest three licks a day!" He needed heavy antibiotics and we still aren't out of the woods almost a month after I picked him up. He's still running a fever some days on Clavamox. I was also told his fecal was totally clear, no parasites at all. He was EATEN up with roundworms (have the photos of those too and his poor little distended belly!) the entire time he was at the shelter because the doctor clearly didn't give them a proper deworming schedule and/or he and his vet techs don't know how to properly read a fecal sample!! The ladies at the shelter are amazing and gave me dewormer after he was officially mine to help keep me from *another* vet bill. Said doctor also gave him his Rabies vaccines while he was being treated for the severe eye infection, which if you know anything about sick pets, you DO NOT give them vaccines, especially rabies. I had no say in it. I thought I was going to be able to talk to the doctor. Kitten was taken to the truck and vaccinated against what I wanted to happen. I get that he wanted it done on a certain time period, but Rabies doesn't need a booster and it could've waited as he was not even 16 weeks yet, he's an indoor only cat, and he has no eyes so he's not wandering out my front door! He could've made him much more ill by giving him that vaccine. Lord knows he probably put that one in his spine with as high as he went on my dog. After I made this post, I found out that my kitten had testicles that were claimed to be removed by Dr. Michler on the same day he did the double enucleation, but weren't. I had to have FIXURPET in Santa Fe go in and neuter him several months after Dr. Michler claimed to have done it. This man has NO business being in practice anymore if he doesn’t know the ABSOLUTE basics of veterinary medicine.

I requested neutering services for a stray cat in my neighborhood. They required a full month to six weeks for a series of vaccinations ($150) before the cat could be neutered. I hung up the phone and took the cat to Amigos pet clinic and the surgery was done the next day.without any need for vacs.

They do not give you the right information, you end up paying way more than what they tell you you will be paying. At the end of the day it is easier and cheaper to go to a vets office with no hidden fees

I was surprised how quick it was even though there was a line. Just a little pushy about administering their particular heartworm medicine and somewhat condescending when explaining why ita better. I had been using heartworm medicine in pill form for both of my dogs and they have never had heart worms, going on 3 years now.

I have been trying to get them to call me back for at least a month to order a refill on my dogs meds but no answer! They don't return my call. They switched pharmacies and I dont know who is the new pharmacy. The old pharmacy said to call the vet but they never answer and don't return calls or texts. Its terrible because all I need is a refill on heartgard and nextgard!

Won’t return my email request or phone calls. Received a text that they were busy with other clients and would get back to me. I paid for antibiotics and blood work for my dog to have her teeth cleaned. I believe the person responsible for scheduling the cleaning is not responsible and not letting the Vet know I’m trying to schedule. This has been going on for 2 months now and still no appointment
