On my last visit 2 weeks ago I started fostering little Aster. She is a 5 month old Dashound & Beagle mix. I couldn't wait any longer and finally adopted her yesterday. She is a joyful and wonderful addition to my family. After our last furry friend passed over a year ago, I wasn't sure if we were ready for a new addition. But she has warmed up our hearts and filled the house with fun and playtime.
Such a nice clean shelter. The staff are helpful, knowledgeable and welcoming. If you are looking to adopt a cat or dog be sure to check this shelter out!
Lying deceitful people work here. They will lie to you to get you to adopt an animal and won't honor their promises. I would highly recommend adopting elsewhere before you receive a dog that they lie to you about its background and behavior. They promise you a trial time with the dog and then if you have an issue won't accept the dog back as promised. However many other shelters in the area do honor this. Terrible facility with terrible people working here
Brought in a lost dog, old female terrier. The guy in charge refused to accept her in, even though she has tags and microchips. I was told I would be ticketed if I left her there at the animal clinic, and his advice to me was to take her back to the middle of road where I found her, and abandon her there. Update: With ABSOLUTELY no help from Bentonville Animal Services, I managed to call the Pet Link microchip company to track down the owner(something that was apparently too difficult for Bentonville Animal Services to do), and I was able to return this sweet 16 yr old dog, to the sweet lady who lost her. I do not recommend this place to anyone. They showed absolutely no empathy or emotion whatsoever for an animal that was too old to adopt out.
Beautiful facility, friendly staff and reasonable adoption fees. Not busy! Was able to get to know the kittens to find the perfect match for our family. Lulu(formerly Stormy) has been a dream!
ADOPTER BEWARE! I HAD TO EUTHANIZE AN AGGRESSIVE DOG THAT THESE TERRIBLE PEOPLE ADOPTED OUT TO MY FAMILY!! This facility is ran by employees who lied to me about the breed of dog I adopted. They also let me know that I would be able to bring my adopted dog back if any issues arise, as I adopted a full grown dog that I didn't know of its background. After extensive training with this dog and hundreds of dollars later, the aggression didn't stop. I had no other choice but to go back to this shelter and give the dog back after 5 months of it living with me. The very rude black haired animal officer lady let me know that the manager who told me I could bring the dog back no longer works there. They even knew the dog I adopted by name, without me mentioning. They KNEW she was a troubled dog, but would not take her back after I was promised that would be the case and after I tried so hard with this dog. I had no other choice but to EUTHANIZE this dog and pay another $200 of my own money due to the liars who work here. The front desk girl is extremely rude and shows no compassion at all towards me even though I went through all of this. These people should not work in this type of business. Even after calling the vet to let them know I no longer have the dog and told them the whole story, they even told me that this shelter STILL tells people they can bring dogs back if any issues arise. I went to numerous shelters in the area as well. They all told me they take their own dogs back, but not dogs adopted from other shelters and that this shelter SHOULD absolutely take the dog back. PLEASE STAY FAR AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE AND THIS SHELTER! There are many more compassionate shelters out there to adopt from. This was the worst experience ever and really put my family and my 3 year old daughter at risk and cost us lots of money in the end. Such a traumatic experience that I never thought I'd have to go through and euthanize such a young dog. I WILL NEVER adopt another full grown dog again due to this traumatic experience! Which is sad considering how many dogs out there need adopted. These people aren't in it for the animals. Too many risks when adopting from this awful shelter. I will be reaching out to the city councilman and anyone else who will listen. This place needs an employee overhaul!
