Description The Lighthouse Rescue Mission was born out of compassion for mothers with children: victims of domestic violence, homelessness or addiction. We are a beacon for the redeeming grace of Jesus Christ, lighting the way to a better life free from the cycle of poverty and despair. Our mission is two-fold: first, we provide hurting women and their children a safe place to live, a haven from a dangerous world. But we also offer a pathway to true life change through a comprehensive program of spiritual counseling and life skills training.
This place is a joke, and is like a cult. The director lied to me constantly, trying to keep my wife here. And to find out that when I pulled her out, after a week, the director constantly was telling her to get a backbone and divorce me, so now I know why they don’t allow communication. Also, was encouraging her to do this, so they could get her on food stamps and take all of that. Would never send anyone here, and there are other programs that are truly Christian!!! What Christian place encourages divorce? Maybe this place needs a heart check, and find out if they are doing this for the right reasons, and not money. Oh yeah, would have gave 0 stars, but that wasn’t an option. What God brought together, let no man tear apart. That’s a Bible verse, and all the members here, need to get back to the Bible.
This place is wonderful! There is a structured schedule and a great devotion to God. The classes are amazing and will definitely help you get back on your feet! The owners and staff are kind, loving and compassionate and really go the extra mile for the residents and their families. I had tried many rehabilitation centers before coming here, but this one worked!
This is an amazing place. They love you and your children. They do not judge you nor shame you, they love you for who you are and right where you are. They have helped me and so many women reconnect with their families and children. The house is huge and they keep it well maintained. When you walk through the door you are treated with respect and curiosity. I would recommend this place to everyone I know.
I read Glenda’s comment, and I would have to strongly disagree with her review. It does not hold merit. I was a resident before, during, and after she was a resident there. Sometimes girls are asked to leave because they are not following the rules or stirring up trouble. Often times, residents who are asked to leave are upset or angry with Lighthouse because they are asked to leave, but in reality, it’s their own poor choices and bad decisions. I absolutely adore Lighthouse. Ms. Kim helped lead me to God. She helped my mama first and then me. I am forever grateful for this place. Lighthouse is a safe place for the residents and their children. There is a large playground area for the kiddos, a huge dining room equipped with a commercial style kitchen, family rooms, as well as single’s dorms, an art room, a living room, a library, a chapel, and a conference room. In the first phase, you participate in classes that help you learn how to be sober and live a functioning life. You are given time to heal from old wounds. Ms. Kim really and truly listens to us whenever we are discussing things, and she helps you sort those emotions out. For second phase, you are transitioned into a job and learn how to save money and how to be sober working while having accountability. If It were not for lighthouse, there is absolutely no telling where I’d be. They were my saving grace from God. Because of this place, I have been completely transformed through God. Everyone there is so sweet and kind and always encouraging. I would recommend this place 1000 times plus to someone who is wanting to break the chains of addiction.
This place is terrible. I guess if your living on the streets and have no where else to go it's better than that but not by much. They threaten people with taking their children if they mention anything that's wrong. They had bed bugs, bugs in the food and told us to wash them out of the pasta that was cooked. It's filthy with only one toilet for all of those women and children and no sink in the bathroom to wash hands. Your not allowed to talk about your addiction. The owners are very rude and speak to people in an awful way. They claim to be Christians but they gossip about other women where they are not around. I was put out for trying to contact a family member to find out about my family and sfter I was gone Kim told the other girls it was because I had dark spirits around me lol. I have since completed another program and I can say I was one of the best experiences I've ever had. I absolutely loved it and I've been clean 19 months now. If you have other options try them first because this place is nothing what it claims to be.
I want to thank Lighthouse. i recommend The Lighthouse to anyone who is struggling with drugs and homelessness. Even if you are a mother, they love you right where you are. I was homeless on drugs. I have graduated from lighthouse and now I am enrolled at PRCC. They helped me start a new life through God that I never believed I deserved. I HAVE THAT NOW
