Description Our Midtown Clinic is the main surgery center for the Southern Pines Healthy Pet Clinic. Our clinic was founded in 2009 to help provide affordable spay/neuter services and accessible wellness services for community pets with a mission to nurture the bond between people and pets.
I've come to this clinic several times and always been treated promptly, professionally, and with compassion. The staff are lovely and they get their job done so efficiently. They always answer all my questions and make sure my babies are well taken care of before, during and after their visit. They also offer re-checks at no cost for 30 days after surgery, which is super convenient. And the procedure prices are great! I highly recommend this clinic to anyone looking to get a pet spayed or neutered.
What a gem Southern Pines Healthy Pet Clinic is! My Australian Shepherd is a five-year-old dog who had yet to be neutered. After careful senior bloodwork, vaccines, and an exam, I made the decision to schedule his surgery as he was the only one out of my 8 pets who had not been fixed. Not only was it affordable, but the staff was extremely friendly, helpful, and informative. 5 of my pets have been fixed through Southern Pines, and it's always been a good experience. For someone with 8 pets and 3 kids, it's nice to find a place with low prices and efficient service. My dog healed well from his surgery, and is doing great.
I was very dissatisfied with my experience trying to get my cat spayed. They had stories that didn't add up, they manipulated me into allowing my cat to stay overnight there promising me that she wouldn't be kept in a box, they did the blood work on my cat after she hadn't eaten for a whole day in prep for surgery but then wouldn't do surgery bc she has low glucose in her blood. It was a complete waste of my time driving back and forth and traumatizing for my cat for no reason to keep her there overnight and they did have her locked in her tiny pet carrier when I came to pick her up, not a kennel like they claimed. And the blood work cost me money, which they told me my deposit would cover and then tried to charge me more anyway at pickup. All for literally nothing, but hey at least they didn't kill her and then not call me all day like the person that made a review last month. I would never trust one of my beloved animals with this organization ever again, I guess I'll pay 3x as much to actually get good and trustworthy people to care for my girl.
I wasn’t notified when my kitten was done with surgery due to an issue with the automated service. No text, personal call or email. She was done at 10am and had to sit there until 4pm when I decided to go check on her after no luck calling myself. When I arrived a careless owner and the staff was letting their dog relentlessly bark and scratch at her kennel, which was behind the desk!! My kennel was also cracked when I got it back. I went for the affordability but they do not care about cats! I can’t imagine what she went through before I got there.
They took such good care of my dog Freddie. Updated frequently on how he was doing! He's not very happy with me right now for having him fixed because he is sore but he's getting all kinds of cuddles. He had a great stay and everyone was awesome and super nice. Thank you!!
Took my cat here to be fixed, while the staff is friendly, I happen to draw the short straw and had my cat die after having a reaction to the anesthesia used, or so they said. We arrived at 7:45am, and checked in before 8. I was told I was supposed to get a text when my cat was out of surgery. For 7 hours, I didn't receive a message. Not until about an hour and a half before they closed did I receive a call, and a dire one at that. This means that they finished the surgery, failed to send the text, and then my cat has the complication. The odds for a cat dying this way is 1 in 100,000. The other thing is that I was not offered a waiver to sign for the use of anesthesia. Didn't even get to be there for my baby's last moments, I was just told she died. This is written in grief, but I feel I needed to post it.
