Description BluePearl Pet Hospital in Sarasota, FL is an emergency vet and specialty pet hospital. We are located in Sarasota and serve Bradenton, Venice, Sarasota, Osprey, Nokomis, Ellenton, Palmetto and Englewood and other communities in the Tampa Bay area and Southwest Florida. Our animal hospital has three surgical suites and multiple exam rooms. It’s fully equipped for ultrasound, X-rays, endoscopy, oxygen therapy, cataract surgery and more. We also provide specialty care including cardiology, internal medicine, ophthalmology, and surgeries. We are excited to be in the process of expanding our veterinary hospital, so we can better serve you.

Last Tuesday evening, my 14-year-old West Highland terrier named Charlie was not acting right, he was shaking and his breathing was very rapid so I decided to go to Blue Pearl emergency room. The staff was great and took him right away to assess what was wrong. I was a bit discouraged and distraught to say the least after an ultrasound revealed that he had a tumor on his spleen, the size of a grapefruit. I was not given a lot of hope by the physician on site and was told that it’s usually cancer. My choices were to do nothing or surgery and would possibly have limited time left with my dog. I decided to wait until morning to meet with Dr. Curry, who is absolutely amazing who gave me so much hope and explained everything in great detail! The critical care team there that work with Dr. Curry is beyond amazing to say the least, they kept me informed and Dr. Beckel was a critical factor in is care as well is superb. I cannot say enough and cannot thank Dr. Curry and his team enough for saving my precious Charlie‘s life. He is home and doing well and there was no cancer thank the Lord. So please don’t ever give up and believe the total worst because there is always hope and I am living proof. So with a lot of prayers and putting my dog’s life in Dr. Curry’s hands I am so beyond grateful that words can’t describe how happy I am. Dr. Curry is Board Certified and just the best his bedside manner is tops!!

I’ve taken both my little pups to Blue Pearl and was meet with such professional care and empathy for each one. The clinicians spoke clearly and gave me all options for the each situation, including cost, without pressure, at each visit. It Never felt like a “sterile-take you money” clinic. Staff was smiling often, very cordial to everyone I saw them interact with, be it 2 or 4 legged guest. I unfortunately had to leave one of my dogs behind with them to cross over The Rainbow Bridge. As heartbreaking as a decision as that was, anyone who’s done that knows, it’s not easy. They’re efforts, dedication and empathy for my feelings as well was wonderful. Highly recommend them!!! Thank you Blue Pearl Staff!!!

Very expensive to have yr pet seen in a scary situation yr pet is demonstrating. $168 just for having pet examined. My pet was running a bit of high fever and being stowick. After exam I was offered further testing and procedures which was just in my opinion very expensive and not representing any guaranteed fix for my pets sickness. I was surprised that with a fever of the pet, no antibiotic was suggested as one of their suggestions for possible relief by the doctor. I paid and left for just the office exam. My Vet next morning asked if Blue Pearl at least gave pet antibiotic. I said no. He said with a higher than normal temperature that is my first course of action I recommend and will administer ans give pet couple days to see if fever goes down and he starts to react more toward his normal self. I was not happy with the Doc at Blue Pearl and no mention of an antibiotic to start with in this emergency visit. The attendants were very nice and professional. Vickie Hall

My husband & I were very impressed with the professionalism, compassion ,& care our 3yr old dog Martin received just the other day. He had an eye injury and we felt it was important to have it evaluated by a specialist. Dr.Nguyen was very gentle with Martin and did the testing needed to diagnose him properly. He explained to us what he saw was the issue & provided a detailed treatment plan for us to follow. I have to say from the beginning of this experience...making the appt..with such a pleasant receptionist who was so accommodating....to the sweet and reassuring opthamologist tech who made us feel so comfortable.(I think her name was Laura)..to all of the employees that walked by yet took the time to say hello to Martin! I would not hesitate to recommend Blue Pearl Veterinary Care to our family & friends!!! Thankyou , Diane& John Salter

I was referred to Dr. Anja Welihozkiy, at Blue Pearl, by my dog’s Veterinary Ophthalmologist in NJ during our winter stay in Sarasota when he developed an infected corneal ulcer and uveitis. We were extremely pleased with our total experience at Blue Pearl from the quickness of getting an emergency appointment with her to the excellent, compassionate and thorough care he received throughout the course of his treatment by Dr Welihozkiy and her team. She was extremely patient, very kind, caring and explained the treatment plan very thoroughly. Our dog made a rapid and excellent recovery with the treatment she prescribed and she followed him closely until he was out of imminent danger. He was relaxed and cooperative during his evaluation and visits. This speaks volumes about Dr W, her team and the Blue Pearl reception staff and how they make ill, painful pets feel comfortable while treating them with expertise and confidence. I would highly recommend Dr Welihozkiy to anyone needing ophthalmologic care for their pet. As my dog has issues with his eyes, I plan to have her evaluate and check his eyes as a baseline when we arrive for our stay in Sarasota next winter..
