Its a amazing place! We got our first cat, Barbara, there. She’s a little scared, but she’s adjusting! The place is so tidy and organized now! It’s a really nice place to a adopt pets. The old building was a little bit smelly, but the new one is just amazing! The people there are sooo nice and answer all the questions they can, so wanna adopt a forever friend? Why don't you go to the Humane Society! Really nice place with just incredible, caring people that really care about their animals! ^^

The most amazing staff volunteers and overall experience we have ever had to include being added to the emergency foster Apollo is absolutely adorable and is thriving and the most dapper and vocally sassy little beagle mix that we absolutely adore Emma and so does are 7 year old English mastiff mix they are two peas in a pod I wish that we could set up a live cam to directly feed it to you all of the wonderful ladies that helped us in adopting "Clover" Apollo, so that they may see the daily shenanigans he and his big sister get up to on a daily basis!!! When he first came home he would eat all of his food and then I walked in and saw him on his tippy toes under neath Athena eating out of her bowl directly between her front paws and under her giant chest as she was eating out of her elevated dog food!!! I literally cried!!! She has NEVER LET ANYONE SHARE HER FOOD, EXCEPT MY RECENTLY DECEASED HUSBAND AND I, AND HERE IS THIS LITTLE SILENT DOG THATS PERFECTLY CALM AND HADN'T MADE A SINGLE PEEP FOR THE FIRST 4 DAYS WANTING TO BE A BIG BOY AND EAT WITH HIS SISTER! MOVE FORWARD A FEW DAYS AND HE HAS FIGURED OUT HOW TO CLIMB ONTO HER ELEVATED BED WITH HER THERAPEUTIC MATTRESS SND HER CACHE OF TOYS, AND HE'S BARKING HIS HEAD OFF BECAUSE SHE WANTS ON HER BED AND HE'S REFUSING TO GIVE UP HIS VICTORY! SO SHE JUST GETS INTO BED WITHY SON, AN OFFENSE HE CAN NOT LET SLIDE AND NEEDS TO RECTIFY THAT HE IS HIS FATHER AND NO ONE ELSE'S! HIS NEW SISTER GENTLY PLACES A PAW ON HIM MUZZLE AND PINS IN SHUT SO HE CAN NO LONGER TELL HER WHO IS AND ISN'T BOSS! HE CONCEEDS AND THEY BOTH FALL ASLEEP WITH THEIR PERSPECTIVE BODY PARTS NEEDING TO TOUCH THEIR DAD/BUBBIES!!!! HE CAME WITH A PRETTY BIG BAG OF HILL SCIENCE DOG FOOD AND AFTER LEAVING THE HUMANE SOCIETY WITH EVERYTHING TYPE OF PAPER WORK YOU COULD IMAGINE, WE HEADED HOME TO PETSMART TO GET HIM HIS OWN STUFF! ROLLING OUT WITH MY BANK ACCOUNT CRYING, WE HEADED HOME AND NOTICED THAT APOLLO WASN'T NECESSARILY PUTTING ANY FORM OF WEIGHT ON AS WE CONTINUED TO FEED HIM THE HILL SCIENCE DOG FOOD....SO WE BEGAN THE TRANSITION OVER TO PUR GRAIN FREE, AND ALL NATURAL INGREDIENTS FOOD WITH ZERO FILLERS! NOT ONLY DID HE STOP EATING SUCH LARGE QUANTITIES WITH ZERO FORWARD PROGRESS, HE BECAME MORE ALERT AND PLAYFUL, HIS HAIR WAS LOOKING SHINY AND WAS EVEN SOFTER THAN IT WAS WHEN WE PICKED HIM UP! HIS GROWTH WAS STAGERING AFTER WE MADE THE FULL SWITCH! NO MORE BALOTED TUMMY AND RAIL THIN SKIN AND BONES, HE BEGAN TO BUILD LEAN MUSCLE AND AN EVEN DISTRIBUTION OF HEALTHY WEIGHT, THIS TEETH ARE GROWING LIKE CRAZY! ANYWAY, WE HAVE ALWAYS BEEN GIGANTIC FANS AND SUPPORTERS OF NO KILL SHELTERS, AND THE REHOMING OF ALL ANIMALS BECAUSE NO MATTER WHAT I TRULY BELIEVE THERE IS A COMPANION OUT THERE FOR EACH AND EVERY ANIMAL! INCLUDING US, LOL..... JUST LIKE HUMANS THAT HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SOUL SHATTERING LOSS OF AN IMMEDIATE FAMILY MEMBER, ANIMALS THAT ARE ADOPTED HAVE A PROFUND AMOUNT OF LOVE AND APPRECIATION FOR THEIR HUMANS THAT WERE THEIR BRIGHT SHINNING LIGHTS OF LOVE, HOPE, COURAGE, INSPIRATION AND COMPASSION! THAT ENTIRE PROCESS BEGINS WITH THOSE INDIVIDUALS THAT ARE PUT THERE 24/7 RESCUING ANIMALS THAT HAD LOST ALL HOPE OR THAT HAD BEEN THROWN AWAY LIKE TRASH, or surrendered due to life's unexpected curve balls! Initially we'd been going there on a regular basis trying to find a senior dog that was closer to our fur Daughter's age of now 7yrs old! But sadly we'd been unsuccessful at finding any companions that would give her the time of day or would freighten her! She's an EXTREAMILY tender hearted and laid back quirky dog, that does suffer from her own unique personality traits! After years of no success we'd arrived to look as a group of males because she does not do well around other females, and there was this trio of tiny babies in a playpen tucked far away from prying eyes, and I instantly knew that this particular one was OUR NEW ADDITION! WITHOUT KNOWING THE SEX, I KNEW HE WAS A BOY AND WHEN READY WOULD BE COMING HOME! THE REST IS HISTORY!

About 14 years ago, I adopted my Greta girl. She passed this year, but what a fantastic dog she was. So many paw prints left on our hearts.

Went to go get food for my cats since I'm completely broke this weekend and the lady at the desk lied to me and told me they were out of food and couldn't help, so how tf are you feeding the ones currently in there. This is the second time this has happened. When I have money I normally make donations to them well that stops now.

I love how much they care about each and every animal that comes through the shelter. If you talk to many of the staff, they still remember the dogs and their names many years later. The ladies at the front desk are always nice and if they do not know an answer or how to help they call other staff from various parts of the shelter for more information. It is not easy to run an operation like this, the wonderful people at THHS are doing an amazing job. My husband and I adopted the most amazing little dog from THHS in 2017, they were the easiest shelter to work with and our app was processed before he was ready to be released. I noticed a few reviews stating that the staff was unfriendly or gave them the wrong information... we did NOT experience anything like this. The staff are definitely overworked and not appreciated by the general public (the people who don't understand how much time, money, effort, etc. go into caring for a few hundred dogs/cats at one time) so it may have taken them a minute to answer a question or get us what we needed- which is completely understandable. I now, a year later, foster dogs for THHS from time to time and the staff continue to be a delight to work with. *side note: to the people that have complained about THHS not allowing them to get their animal back after 5 days.... dude... you had 5 whole days to get to the shelter and claim your pet. That's a whole business week that your pet had been missing and you couldn't bother to call/ go to the shelter... in my opinion you didn't care enough about said pet to deserve them in your life.

I love this place and the people who tirelessly rescue care for and maintain it all. The people who work and volunteer for the humane shelters are unsung HERO'S to me. THANK YOU TO EVERY ONE OF THE PEOPLE WHO WORK SO HARD TO HELP ALL THE ANIMALS THAT ARE DISGAURDEED CARELESSLY ABANDONED ABUSED AND/OR NEGLECTED. YOU ARE ALL ANGELS.
