Had to make the difficult decision to euthanize my cat Pippie. Her and I were treated with respect and tenderness by the staff. I called prior to arriving and they were upfront about pricing. It was cheaper than my primary vets euthanasia services. The paws of rememberance is a beautiful little tribute. I am grateful to them for their kindness and easiness during such a hard time. Definitely recommend them for the hard decision. (Old picture of healthy Pippie)

My dog got bit by a squirrel, or so we thought. The vet here informed us that squirrels have very long sharp claws and it was just a very deep scratch. Either way she had a fair amount of blood coming out of a gash under her chin. Her whole chest was covered with blood. So we took her into VSECIndy South at about 3:30pm. They put us in an exam room immediately, and we were out in an hour. All the staff was very friendly. Most vet staff at other vet practices we have been to have also always been friendly and compassionate, but here they just seemed EVEN MORE friendly and amazing with our dog. Also the price seemed very reasonable to us for it being an emergency exam and having just walked in. Since it wasn't a bite after all, the vet was honest and said antibiotics probably would not be needed (so that would have saved us some money). But she said if we felt better giving her the antibiotics she would prescribe them. We thought it was very nice she gave us the option. But we choose to get the antibiotics just to play it safe. Overall we were very satisfied with our experience here and would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for an emergency vet for their furry family members!

Emergency trip in middle of the night for my dog. My beautiful girl didn't make it. 10 years by my side. I was devastated. As hard as the experience was, I was blown away by everyone's compassion and understanding. They were patient with us, and allowed us to process the emotions and grief we were overwhelmed with. We were politely given options they could provide without any pressure. This is not something a pet parent wants to go thru, but trust me, you will be in good hands here. A week later I received a card signed by all the staff which is why I'm writing this review. I can't express how much gratitude I feel. Thank you so much. ❤️ My only complaint would be wishing they had a location in the southern area of Indiana, which is where I live. An hour drive for emergency situations is horrible for a pet parent.

The staff was very kind and considerate as we made the tough decision to have our dog out to sleep. They had treated her weeks before a d understood our decision.

When my son's hamster Stubby passed last week, I made him a comfy little faux-fleece-lined shoebox coffin, and my husband and son brought him to the Veterinary Specialty & Emergency Care clinic on Stop 11; they share the building with Noah's Animal Hospital. They had his little self cremated. This morning, when we opened the post, there was a sympathy card in our box, signed by all of their staff -- and enclosed with a little wildflower seed pod for Allan to plant in memoriam. To the staff at VSEC, thank you. You took something that was truly awful for my little boy, and made it taste just a little less bitter. 💔

My 5 yr old furbaby was taken here this morning with a urinary obstruction. He was in bad shape. My choices were to pay $4500 or to euthanize my baby.. this place only cares about the money. This is very unethical and not a compassionate place. Please don’t take your pets here if you want them to receive the care that they deserve. After doing some research the usual way to treat this is with a catheter place to bypass the obstruction and meds. $4500 for a catheter? I know the meds don’t cost that much. He was an otherwise healthy cat and the only other problem he ever had a problem with constipation.. is it possible he was misdiagnosed? We will never know now because he is in heaven. My heart is broken for all eternity. This place should not be in business. They are not in it for their love of animals only for their pockets. This is an unethical practice.
