Walked in to look for a cat to adopt and it was a seamless adoption experience for this sweet baby girl. Staff was extremely helpful and kind. This is my second animal adopted from here and both have been wonderful experiences. So happy to give this sweet girl her forever home.

I hate having to do bad reviews, but this place is not to be trusted at all. I received a call from this shelter stating that my dog was lost. I called them back to see what was going on bc I allowed someone to take care of him, at least until I was able to. He has been through a lot since he was a puppy, and I stressed to them bc the last owner overdosed on him; I will be coming to get him to take him to someone within my family. He said I have until Thursday. I got a call today from the officer telling me that he allowed someone who knew the victim to adopt him. Mind you, I told him not to do this because everyone around the last owner was messed with drugs. I didn't want him with someone who I didn't know or anyone who knew the woman who overdosed in front of him. I wanted him near family so I could still see him. I never gave them permission to have him adopted. They did this on their own. He was with her because she was helping me take care of him. I am a domestic violence survivor, I needed someone I could trust to take him in so I knew he was good. This place has horrible customer service, and should not be trusted. I marked Sebastian as stolen (his chip) bc the worker at the shelter allowed a random stranger to adopt him without my permission. I never gave him up, I allowed someone to take care of him until I was on my feet.

About 5 years ago I had an experience with this business that restored my faith in animal shelters, ans people who could easily be stressed and have a crappy attitude. They were such a blessing. I never left my review before, but recommended them to a friend today, and thought I'd share some positivity. I won't go into details, but just want to say thank you to the staff here for helping me to likely save my dogs life. I'm pretty sure he wouldn't have made it without them.

This is an amazing place! I'm disappointed by the low reviews, it's not deserved. These people are trying very hard to place animals in good homes. Yes, it can be slow here, but what can you expect from an underfunded place that uses volunteers? They're doing their best. I just adopted the most amazing German Shepherd Dog and I'm thrilled! The process was easy, and she was even living with a foster who was training her with solid obedience work. I couldn't be happier with the whole thing, and my poor shelter dog is just bouncing around my house. Five stars, people. Keep up the great work!

Got my handsome little guy from here. The staff knows all the animals by name and loves each one of them. They are very well cared for prior to adoption.

This place is so so SO poorly run. 1) They do not background check adopters, and even fired staff for doing so. 2) They failed to post signage on a dog’s crate that JUST had surgery stating to go slow and take precautions with that dog for X amount of days. That dog was taken out and her post surgery incisions ripped open, insides spilling out. They decided it was “too expensive” to fix their own mistake so they euthanized her. Unfortunate true story that they will not tell the public about. 3) Animals are randomly dying in their care (as seen on Indy News) 4) My own personal nightmare of trying to adopt from here. You’re always being told one thing, then getting nothing in return. Whatever you guys are doing, shame on all of you. Seriously.
