I have used Brookside for years, when it came time that my beloved companion was at the end of his life. Dr. Henderson came to my house for his last moments to reduce the stress as much as possible. His ashes were given to me in a beautiful lock box. When I was finally ready for a new pup. Dr. Henderson has been amazing, helping me with the fact that my little black dog I thought I had was not going to be so little. 80lbs later she is still great! I would highly recommend her.

I brought my 20 year old cat there monthly for 2 shots. Antibiotics and Arthritis. I watched their tech pierce the skin in his shoulder through and through while the medication landed on the metal table. As I gritted my teeth listening to my very old cat cry in pain, I asked why she didn’t do it between the shoulder blades and she responded that way if he has a reaction I know which product it was. Mind you he had been doing the shots for over a year. She went to get a second round since the first landed on the table. And I watched her do the exact same thing but this time half of it was on his fur, and he’s still crying in pain . She said “ it’s ok, he only needs a little bit “. To which I responded, if he only needs a little bit why do you charge me the full syringe? This was the second month in a row watching the liquid go everywhere but in my cat. She stormed out, I wanted to complaint to the Vet but paid my $80 and left, very upset. But to my surprise the manager called me on my way home, for what I thought would be an apology. But instead she went on to tell me I have no business being rude, to which I responded what did I say that was rude? And she said it was my “ tone”. Make sure you watch your tone when they hurt your animals over and over. I was so distraught my husband decided to handle this. He called the vet, who berated him and told him I would need to issue an apology if I wanted my old cat to be seen again, and that it was it was normal to spew liquid through because his skin was thin and old, blaming the victim. I shouldn’t have questioned her technique or stood up for my cat. The tech, instead of receiving additional training, covered her mistake with tears and blame shifting. Needless to say no apologies were issued on my part and my only regret was not filming this whole thing.

Dr. Painter is amazing! She is one of the best vets I have ever had for my pets. She is extremely kind, caring and patient. During our visits, I had several questions about our cats condition and treatment and she listened to all my concerns and answered all my questions thoroughly. She never made me feel rushed and takes her time during the appointments. Dr. Painter has gone above and beyond for us and our pets and we are so grateful for her. We highly recommend her for any of your precious fur babies!

The staff was very considerate and caring when I had to have my cat put down. The veterinarian took time to sit with me and talk.

I took my elderly dog in because he had a cough. She told me that his heart my be swollen and could possibly burst. She insisted on all kinds of unnecessary tests. I told her I couldn't afford that. She was the most rudest doctor I have ever met. I asked for palletive care and my dog got cough syrup. He lived for another year. Brookside is the worst vet in ogden, perhaps in the entire state of utah.
