Did you know that this Wildlife Rehab Center in Ogden has accepted and healed over 30,000 animal patients since they opened in 2009? As one of the top wildlife rehab centers in the West, they help all who need them, including raptors, shorebirds, songbirds, 4-leggeds, orphans, elderlies, you name it. Yet, when you visit, what you find are humans with their heads down, sometimes working 24/7 because the influx of patients just never ends. They told me that last year alone, they fielded over 15,000 calls for help with wildlife, many ending with educational info shared and/or wildlife rescued. That alone has got to be an enormous relief to Utah State Wildlife officials who I imagine could never handle that call volume on their own! The Center's Educators are often out and about at community events with their unreleasable wildlife ambassadors, educating the community about the importance of wildlife in our state and what to do if you find an injured animal in your yard or in the wild. This group of people is truly remarkable.
We find baby birds at our apartments every summer that kids try to kill! We take the baby birds here to give them a chance to live! These people are always so nice and do such a great job!
The most seamless and stress-free experience I’ve had with any animal care facility! I found 5 baby birds that fell from a chopped down tree, so I contacted Wildlife Rehabilitation Center to see if they could take them in. The woman on the phone was incredibly kind and helpful and answered my many questions, as I’ve never brought an animal to a rehabilitation center. I wasn’t going to make it to the center before closing, so she recommended a website to check out that gives information on how I could care for the birds until the next morning. When I dropped off the birds, the woman at the desk was so kind and the process was really simple. They even give you a reference number so you can contact them and receive updates on the animal(s) you bring in :,,,) 100000/10 experience!! Please donate if you can— they 1000% deserve it!
Such an amazing rehab. Super friendly, and when we called about a hurt owl we picked up off the side of the interstate, we were able to bring him/her in for immediate care. We will be keeping up to date on potential recovery through a case # they gave us. If you come across injured wildlife, please give them a call. They are doing important work. We donated to keep their doors open. 🐾🙏🏾
I really need to thank everyone here, I cannot stress how positive my experience with this center was! A bird had gotten into my house and my indoor cats had attacked it. I was able to get the bird from my cat, thinking it was gone because it was not moving until I saw its eyes farting around and it was breathing shallowly. I panicked and put the bird in a small box with a bunch of tissue and set it on a heating pad. I called multiple places (vets, shelters, even woke up a Birds of Prey specialist accidentally) until someone recommended I call here. Everyone else I called made it seem...silly? Unnecessary? That I was calling for a small wild House Finch, but here they immediately said to bring it in. They made me feel validated that it was worth saving this small bird and that relieved so much stress. A friend and I drove about an hour, walked in and were immediately helped. They took the box as soon as I walked in and starting checking it, while I filled out a page of paperwork giving my information and what had happened. I donated some money (they do not require any money, but this goes to help pay for the treatment), and they gave me a case number so I can call back and check the status of the bird. When I called to check in, the bird was doing well! It needed a few sutures and antibiotics. They told me if the bird heals well they will attempt to release it in my area, and if the bird was not suitable for release, they partner with various programs and facilities to give it a home. I felt very assured they would do their best to help! The staff was incredibly welcoming and caring, and they made me feel a lot less stressed about the situation. They were happy to answer all my panic-questions and put the bird's wellbeing first. Thank you all so much for being amazing bird heroes!
They answered the phone quickly, gave me clear instructions on how to transport the bird I had found, and gave him care immediately when they received him. I'm impressed with how professional and kind they were. They don't require a donation to bring an animal in, so please consider donating to support this wildlife rescue!
