I have visited Lone Mountain Animal Hospital some 14 years ago for my cat and I recall them being kind, attentive and respectful of my decision not to euthanize my cat who was badly injured with a broken back. The vet gave me instructions on how to care for him at home and I followed them. Thankfully my cat was a strong dude and miraculously recovered completely and lived to a ripe old age! Now, this year my recent experience was also unintentional, our hedgehog was not doing well, and we had to rush her to be seen on emergency basis. I was told that 6 of the 7 vets here can see hedgehogs! I will save you time and let you know that their emergency fees are very reasonable compared to other places. Sadly in this instance, our hedgehog didn't make it and by the time I walked in with her, she wasn't moving. I was a crying mess, they quickly rushed her to the back and offered to try to resuscitate her, I agreed. Unfortunately, it was too late. The vet and staff was so kind and understanding and told me that it was likely a cardiac arrest. A week later I get the sweetest sympathy card signed by all the staff, it made me tear up, we weren't a regular customer or anything, and still they spent the time to write and send most heartfelt sympathy card I have ever gotten for a pet I lost. Thank you Lone Mountain Animal Hospital, I have told everyone how lovely your staff is and will bring my other pets for care to you in the future!
Highly recommended for bunny rabbit owners. Bunny owners need exotic vets they can trust in an emergency and Lone Mountain is the place to go. The fact they are open on weekends is a huge benefit, especially since my little guys always decide to get sick late on a weekend. I had two back-to-back cases of GI stasis from gut blockages that affected both of my bunnies about 3 weeks apart. Thankfully, Lone Mountain was there to help, with doctors who are knowledgeable about rabbits. I’ve since addressed the possible problem which may have caused both incidents, and I hope I don’t have to come back for another emergency, but if I do, I know my bunnies will be in good hands. One of my buns needed surgery (pictured) and Dr. Gowda was very accommodating and professional in informing me of the risks and prognosis. Thanks to their skill and know-how, the little guy pulled through and has made a full recovery. My other bun luckily didn’t end up needing surgery, but Dr. Brooks kept me updated through the whole ordeal and he too made a full recovery. I’m so thankful to them for saving my babies’ lives.
I been taking my guinea pigs to Lone Mountain for years. The staff and providers here have always been so caring, understanding and always been attentive to my concerns. Last month, my 3 y/o guinea pig, Musubi had a bladder stone that had to be surgically remove (as you can tell in the pic, it was a pretty big stone). He does have a history of having bladder/urethra stones in the past. I’m so grateful he recovered successfully. I had my guinea pigs be seen by Dr. Moore. She’s incredible and your pets would be in good hands with her. She is very communicative and direct. I would recommend her to anyone who has a guinea pig! She’s very knowledgable and informative on how to provide aftercare for your pets. It was also really nice of her to check up on Musubi a couple days after his procedure. I highly recommend her and her team :)
First off I would like to say thank you to all the staff here for really helping my cat Prince. I truly believe if it was not for the care and the help you gave us he would not have recovered. You understood that I may not have had thousands of dollars but still made a plan within my budget. Without you he would have never had a fighting chance. Thank you again from the Riglers for saving our Animal who is like a son to us!
They are more concerned with “the plan of things they want to do” before anything they make a list of all things they want to charge you for. They are not very up front about what is happening. Brought my cat in for an emergency visit, turned out she had subcutaneous emphysema, due to a tear in her trachea. They were closing within an hour or so. And I was shocked and I distress and unsure of what to do. They said they wouldn’t know about the tear till a specialist look at it the next day. I loved that cat more than anything and thought that leaving her there over night would be best for her. I wasn’t ready to give up on her. They gave her pain medicine kept her in an oxygen chamber. 12 hours later I returned to see her she wasn’t doing good at all. She was in so much pain and could barely breathe. I decided I couldn’t watch her suffer. Now a day later I have looked into subcutaneous emphysema and now know that she needed emergency care to removed the area trapped under her skin. I feel that they were not forthcoming with information I paid 1600 for my angle baby to die. When they brought her in she could barely breath and I had to watch her suffocate before my husband left the room to go grab them so we could let her pass. I wish they were straight forward with you. They made it seem like it was the unknown thing that needed to be looked into more. Trying to deal with her passing I have looked into how this could of happened. I was able to find better information on what she needed then they gave me. If they had known she needed a higher level of care quickly they should of said that. If they weren’t sure what to do they should of told me. I am so heart broken over the loss of my sweat baby girl and wish I had been more prepared. They made bank off very little mainly watching me cry. On a positive note they are sweat with after death care. I get a beautiful case of her ashes. Some of her hair and a paw print. They send of card of condolences which is nice. But that will never bring back the time we should of had together. Maybe I’m confused on the matter but if I was the vet and someone came in that upset with a cat in that situation. I would once the X-ray was done say ok this is what it is you need to immediately that her to specialist care.
This is the first time we took my dog here on 10/17/23 for giardia. He finally tested negative on 10/18/23…….I had tooken him to a different vet where he supposedly kept testing positive but I think it was lies. I come here once and they told me it was negative I feel so relieved….When I first walked in here the staff was so nice and friendly, they care!!! The vet doctor was very informative well experienced. Not like other vet hospitals that don’t tell you exactly what you need to know. But yeah 10/10 recommended this place and the prices were not that bad at all
