Expect your adoption to be an all day affair. We arrived at 12 and were finished by 6:30. You will stand in a long line for probably a couple hours to even begin the adoption process. There is high turnover so be sure to make sure your animal is still there before getting in line. It’s too bad you can’t call to find this out, but that’s my only negative feedback. This facility is pretty amazing. You can tell the animals are very well taken care of. It’s super clean and all the cats we saw looked healthy and their cages were well cared for. They are very knowledgeable about each animals background, vetting, behavior etc. They take animal welfare very seriously and I applaud that. At the checkout desk when the adoption is finalized they hand you all kinds of coupons for pet supplies and vet care which is a great perk. Of course your animal comes up to date on shots and is fixed. They walk you through everything and everyone was super nice and helpful. We left with a healthy beautiful kitten! Highly recommend this place. It’s refreshing to see this kind of care for animals in a big city.
Onsite and street parking. Handicap access available. This facility is next to the lost and found pet center. It's a busy facility which indicates lots of people are looking to adopt. We parked on the street. The interior is neat, clean and orgamized. The front desk assistants are great. Brian the receptionist at the adoption desk was excellent, very cheerful and helpful in providing information especially to us who were new to this center. Our prospective doggy was in a foster home. Brian gave us the handout with instructions to be contacted by them and to set up an apointment with the foster parent to meet and greet. The process took about three days to meet our doggy who we adopted. The foster mom was thorough in provinding details of our doggy demeaner, handling and diet. Upon finalization all paperwork and documents were emailed to us. Over all it was an easy process. We just love our new family member.
I was lucky enough to foster a beautiful dog over the Thanksgiving holiday! The Animal Foundation made the entire process so easy. She did have a respiratory infection and the clinic saw us right away and they were very communicative with her results and care. This was great since they did take my own dogs and their exposure into consideration. They are a very caring facility and I cannot wait to foster again!
So organized and you can tell these pets are very well taken care of. Would 100% adopt here again. We came during an event which I normally wouldn’t do but it was the only weekend we had child care and holy moly were they organized. It did take forever to get through the adoption process but they were very busy and I love to see such organization and they were highly staffed. I wish we could’ve adopted all the animals. Got a wonderful kitten which was very healthy and has already adjusted amazingly, not traumatized from being there. Everyone was super kind and just wanted these animals to go to good homes.
Very beautiful facility! There are a lot to adopt. Friendly staff, decent cleanliness, and well organized. You walk in, greeted, and instructed to take photos of the pets you're interested in. They go over the well-being of the pet, medical issues, or concerns, and so on. You get to meet the pet you're interested in and decide from there if that's the one. One little negative that I have is to be prepared to pick up any pet and receive them dirty. They're not washed or given a bath. I do understand, though. It's a HUGE facility, and giving a bath to all of them would take days. That's my 1 negative. So if you plan on adopting, bring a kennel! 😉
I will recommend you to ask questions. Not only take your pet. They just do their job. It’s a clean place. Warning: They do not allowed you to enter to the room with your pet, you’ll have to stay in the waiting room. Always know what you paid for, my son came with his pet, they said everything was ready, my son told them if they had put him his microchip and the lady said “ no “. Check what shots your pet is getting, what for and what’s next. Also what kind of food he might take or milk. On the end of this building they have donations for you pet. Ask for information.
