We love the Dog Ranch Too! We typically have our dogs play and board at the location on Daphne, but we had one of our pup attend a few training sessions with Ben and DRT. Ben is a very professional and highly knowledgeable trainer. We feel that the training sessions were very reasonably priced also. Thanks for everything y’all do!

This review is based off our experience with Dog ranch too in Fairhope. I dropped our 11 year old lab off for thanksgiving break boarding and had such high expectations with all the amazing reviews. I was excited to leave her in such good hands since we were going to be 8 hours from home. They gave me an estimate of $225 for her entire stay. On Annie’s second day there, we got a phone call telling us she had gone into heat and we needed to come pick her up. I explained we couldn’t pick her up as we were in a different state. She stated we would have to pay extra because she was in heat. I asked for an invoice to be sent to me so I could have everything in line for when I pick her up and not be surprised by the costs. Denise then emailed me the invoice of $336 which included her entire stay, her extra costs for being in heat, plus a bath. I thought it was extremely high for boarding but also knew the inconvenience of a dog in heat can cause so I agreed Denise that we could pay it on the day of her pick up. Fast forward to our pick up date, Denise was not there but she had a very kind staff member bringing the dogs up front. When checking out she printed an invoice for that was $479. Which is not what I had initially agreed to. I asked what the difference was and they said they had to add on every meal (even though that was not anywhere on papers for drop off. So a surprise charge of $3 per meal) she had plus her being in heat.. and they couldn’t give her a bath because she was in heat? The lady then told me Annie had severe diarrhea the entire time, continuously had been pooping in a kennel, and that it had been caked to her butt. (This should def warrant a reason for a bath especially since we asked for one and if she was sick why not call us or ask about a vet) she brought Annie to me, with a soaked butt as if they had just scrubbed poop off of her for pick up and she reeked of feces, and had some caked to her. She was not in heat when I picked her up even though they claimed she was every single day she was there. (So she wasn’t in heat when I dropped her off or when I picked her up......) I paid the $479 because I had two kids in the car, an animal that looked like she wanted to escape the place, and because the lady at the counter although was sweet seemed like she didn’t know what was going on. When I got home my husband called to talk to Denise to ask for the difference since that is not what we had agreed upon and the dissatisfaction we had in Annie’s appearance when we got her. Denise said she stood by charging us almost $500 for a week and wouldn’t agree to give us back the difference. Even though she was the one to give the initial estimate in the first place and which I agreed to. Annie is 11 years old and we have never had one issue boarding her. She has never gotten sick at a borders. She has never had diarrhea caked to her butt and she has never wanted to escape a place that fast. We usually board her at Waggy Tail in Daphne and have loved every experience. they are honest, up front/clear about pricing, they are kind, and Annie loves it there. The only reason we didn’t use them again is because they were already booked. I would never in a million years take my dog back Dog ranch resort, too. And if I were the owner of this business I would be ashamed for continuously changing pricing, not being up front with your customer, and especially how the dog was treated and felt while there.

Our dog was four weeks out from orthopedic surgery and we had to board him for the day. Dog Ranch is where my wife and I have been boarding our pets for years. We trust them to do the right thing. My instructions for care were posted on his kennel and on his basket for food and medication. The staff is professional and caring.

This review is in reference to a previous review my wife left regarding our experience with Dog Ranch, Too. It’s unfortunate that I find myself writing this, as I was in high hopes that we may have found a second option for boarding my 11 year old lab. We usually use Waggy Tale (they are incredible by the way) However, sometimes we have trips on short notice and this time they were completely booked. After seeing the very dishonest response to my wife’s review, I’m very disappointed now, not only in the way business was conducted but also in the willingness to completely fabricate a conversation that never took place between us (your customers) and you (the owner of the establishment). Receiving a invoice from the owner of a company should, in my opinion, be something you feel is concrete enough that it would be honored. Our original invoice was quoted at $225.00 ( that included a bathing) There was no mention of there being an additional charge of $3.00 per meal nor was this on any paperwork that we checked off on, only options to purchase treats and “puppachinnos”. I was able to find this stated as a fee however, clicking on your leagal tab and reading through the tiny fine print, you’re right! It’s there! I guess that means you’re covered “legally” but this is far from good business practices and very disheartening. Our second invoice was $336.00( which after hearing that Annie had gone into heat, I had no problems with the increased amount.) still no mention of charging for meals or that this no longer included a bathing. Unfortunately, we were 8-9 hours away at the time that we found this information out and had no way of retrieving Annie (our lab). When my wife arrived to pick up Annie, she was at the point charged something entirely different. This amount was not discussed through email or phone conversation. We were not informed of any mistakes that the owner is blaming on her point of sale. We were not prepared to pick up our dog covered in feces and wet from a last minute spray off with cold water as we had our kids in the car along with luggage. In 11 years of having Annie, I have never seen her react the way she did with leaving your establishment, or had her returned to me in such a way that I questioned how she was treated and kept during her visit. Nor have I seen her urinate and defecate on herself repeatedly in a kennel. Our final invoice was $479.00 (this also no longer included a bathing we were told) I have taken my screenshots of all the information given on your website (prior to this) copies of scanned receipts and invoices and conversations and forwarded them to the BBB. Hopefully, at the very least this can prevent someone else from being put through this, or more importantly someone’s pet.
