Last week, I brought a pigeon named Costco, who I've been rehabilitating for the last month, to You Gotta Love Them. I was quite surprised at how expansive and well maintained this shelter's facility was. My friend and I were given a tour, and were both impressed at the variety of birds being taken care of here. Freda and her team clearly live their message, love the animals they shelter, and go the extra mile to take care of every bird brought their way. Well done, You Gotta Love Them team! There is a small donation / fee of $100 required for them to take on any birds brought to them - I'm amazed that they are able to make the donations they receive go so far. If you're looking for a charity that will make phenomenal use of your donation, look no further.
There are plenty of reviews of her helping pigeons but when I called to ask if I can bring in a beautiful brown pigeon who has a broken wing and has been waddling around my apartment complex in the hot 117 degree summer weather, she claims to not take pigeons. Just like every other bird “sanctuary” only taking exotic birds. Luckily I found a woman by the name of Diana who is willing to help any bird even a pigeon. I really couldn’t sleep at night worrying for the pigeon and the fate he might encounter. Do better with your sanctuary and don’t become like the rest who only help exotics
Frida and her team are simply FANTASTIC I found a baby finch fallen in my yard. She guided me via text how to take care every step of the way. Kindest, most well informed person who has 20 plus years of experience rehabbing birds. Eventually after it was stable we gave the finch to her sanctuary to release it into the wild and train it. I am now a big fan and supporter of this non profit. They truly do right by the birds.
Frida was unbelievably helpful... I found a injured baby quail and immediately was looking for a shelter or something... I'm so glad I found Frida at You Gotta Love Them, Inc.!! Any where else woulda been a mistake but not in her hands. She even gave me a lil tour of her incredible sanctuary. I wish I had more donations to help her cause..😥 I love these animals!
I donated almost 700lbs of bird food to Ms. Frida yesterday! And I got to see how awesome she has been doing in this place. She is such an Angle since she has been saving so many birds! She also saved several dogs, and I could tell those dogs were abandoned by people. Please do something which you can help those animals. GOD BLESS US!
I hand fed a 2 wk baby pigeon that fell from our roof for a good 2 months and even named him Harry. He grew rapidly and became a handsome fella, however I knew it was time for him to be with his own and flying freely, yet safely. So I researched and found this sanctuary for birds. I met a kind-hearted soul, Frida and was given a tour by a warm, friendly lady, Christine. The sanctuary was like a maze and spacious! I love their huge pond/fountain, where the birds can enjoy their baths and gather around. I know Harry will be well taken care of here and be able to have the space to fly around, instead being in a wired cage, where he can only flap his wings and fly a few inches up. He always looked out and I felt sad for him. There is a $100 donation to bring him here, which is totally understandable from how much care they give. If you took the tour, you will see how much work and effort they put in to have a safe place for someone like Harry. I'm looking forward in seeing Harry grow and be able to make friends, fly freely, and most of all.. have a safe place to call home. Thank you Frida and Christine! *pics are from my residence, not the sanctuary
