This organization is, by far, the most loving, caring, and communicative rescue I have ever experienced. I adopted my precious pup from them 11 years ago and they were such amazing advocates for the dogs. They wanted to ensure they were going to loving homes. I recently reached out to try to track down my adoption paperwork… from 11 years ago!!… and they instantly helped me without any hesitation. I am forever grateful for this amazing rescue. Thank you! ❤️
When I looked online and saw this handsome boy. I wanted to meet him. I was told to bring in family members, including any pets we had. The lady who helped me was very honest about him. She told me he has been in the shelter for the last 10 years. He gets along with other dogs but does not like putting on collars and being on a leash. He gets aggressive. She told me that if it doesn't work out, bring him back and was very adamant about that. I told her that day, you should tell him bye now because he is not coming back. We got home, and yes, you could tell he was abused in the past. He was very aggressive when trying to change out his collar. Fast forward, he went from Cujo to such a lovable baby! It's been 4 years now since we adopted him. It took a lot of patience to have him trust that we won't hurt him. He loves putting on sweaters during the winter. He loves going riding in the car! He just loves his brother and is very protective of him. It does take time to learn their triggers when adopting. They are like kids. But one huge difference is kids can communicate with us. Dogs can't. I am so grateful that we found him. He now has a family and a forever home to live out his senior years! The pictures below are before and after! The reason I'm leaving a review only now. I just want people to understand that you never know how a dog will be in a new environment. You need to have time and patience when adopting. Remember, dogs can't tell us about their past!
We were able to adopt a very sweet and lovable little lady named Charlotte. The staff were wonderful and very knowledgeable about the dogs. We will definitely be back if we decide to adopt again. We've recommended them to anyone who wants to adopt a new dog.
This is “Pearl” on their website. I renamed her Nala so she will respond to that. Since they want to lie on her bio I will tell you the truth. For starters she is not coming in as a stray. I adopted her in March of 2021. She sits healthy at 48lbs. Since I adopted her in March I consider that her birthday so in my eyes she is still 2. I unfortunately have to return her bc she has separation anxiety. When I got roommates I thought the issue went away because I’ve never dealt with that before and I didn’t acknowledged the behavior because I thought it was gone and the shelter never mentioned she had it. I’m now living alone again and it is still very much present. I attached a picture of the damage she did one time and I was only gone for 2hrs. I had to purchase a industrial kennel pretty much because she destroyed two of the flimsy ones. She is not crate trained or house trained. Her anxiety causes her to have accidents and makes her not want to go in her kennel. What she is is lovable, sweet, shy and a cuddle bug once she gets comfortable. She loves playing with her bark box toys and laying in the bed with me. She is friendly with dogs once she gets comfortable. She is a very awkward, shy dog. She isn’t large, she is medium. If she’s in the same room as a house cat she will try to chase it/play with it but once it corrects her she will leave it alone completely. She immediately tries to chase stray cats if she sees them running. She knows sit, wait and go to your bed 100%. Everything else needs work. If outside off leash she will come when called but off leash training needs work as well. She rarely barks indoors. And she isn’t aggressive in any way. The shelter won’t tell you the truth so this is the basics about her. I also believe they lie about the dogs. The only thing they changed about her bio compared to when I adopted her is her age and weight. I also attached my email response to them so you can understand and see the extent of her anxiety more.
The people that work and/or volunteer for Path 4 Paws deeply care for the dogs they adopt out. They really make sure that anyone adopting a pet, will take care of that pet evidenced by all the questions in the many pages of the adoption process. So happy to have found Path 4 Paws as they help so many dogs find a good home.
The people are so wonderful. Truly kind and caring and I love what they do for the pups. We adopted a dog recently and he's been the very best new addition to our family since having my son. The team evaluates the dogs so you'll know if they're good with kids (and at what approx ages), other dogs and even cats! If you have any pet supplies to give, please donate to this wonderful organization.
