I took my dog in because she got into an unknown amount of medication. She was very sick and seen right away by the vets. Dr. Houston was very sweet and comforting when addressing my dog’s case. They kept her overnight to get her stabilized. Dr. Houston called with updates later that day and I got a call the next morning with new updates and they allowed me to take her home. They quoted us 2k to 4K to get her back to health which we agreed upon and put a 2k deposit down for, at the end of it all it came out to be 1800 and they refunded some of the deposit. I feel like they could have taken advantage of already having our money but the fact some was even refunded was something you don’t see very often. My dog came home in a much better state than when she went in! Thank you Dr. Houston and Dr. Campbell!
They took such good care of my cat, Michael "Mike" Hat! He was in for a urinary blockage and had to stay overnight. This was very difficult for him as he is a very nervous cat. He was the only cat there and they did everything and more to make him comfortable during his stay. The staff was available at any time we wanted to check in on Mike and have them give him a squeeze from us. They were professional and detailed and provided good information on return to home care and changes we could make to help Mike Hat avoid these concerns in the future. We were very happy with the support we received from this emergency center. Thanks for all you do for our pets! <3
My experience with Animal Emergency & Specialty Center of Reno has always been absolutely outstanding. The staff is welcoming, friendly, and kind. Taylor, in particular, has always gone above and beyond to make my senior dog and I feel welcome and supported. The doctors are extremely skilled. Dr. Schroeder, the clinic’s surgeon, needed to perform a somewhat complicated tumor removal on my senior dog. I always felt I was in great hands, especially with her very responsive and skilled support team of Meghan, Cami and Allie. They always got back to be promptly whenever I had a question or concern and really made me feel my dog and I were in good hands during a pretty stressful time for us. I would absolutely recommend others go here and feel lucky that I found them for the care my dog needed.
Worst experience ever. We took our dog in early in the morning. We we're told by the vet that he needs to be euthanize because he was in late stages of kidney failure. Needless to say, it was horrible news. They said they were going to give an anti nausea shot. 3 hours later my husband ask the person at the front desk name Taylor how much longer. We just wanted to be around our dog before he had to be put down. Taylor was unbelievable rude and said she didn't know what was going on because the vet left her shift with no directions. At this point we just wanted our dog back and my husband said to her she could be a little more sympathetic. She started yelling "you can leave now sir" "you can leave now sir" if front of everyone in the waiting room. She was absolutely terrible and should not be working in an high pressure emergency veterinary. I can't believe how terrible this experience how much lack of empathy the front staff has.
I wish I could give no stars. We took our otherwise healthy 7 year old cat in for a blockage that thankfully we caught early. He has a history and we take all precautions to ensure it doesn’t happen. It has been 3 years since his last one and this was only his second. The receptionists had no empathy for the situation and kept looking and each other and smirking. We were put into a room and when the vet finally came in she said we can hospitalize him for $3500, $2500 of it die before we do anything, or euthanize him tonight and asked us if we understood. No was my immediate response because I was shocked she went there so quickly. After she reexplained the two previous options magically there was a third to clear his bladder and get him into his primary vet. After the experience that was our choice. Our primary vet was also shocked the euthanasia was a choice and told me that is not where we are. Upon leaving the receptionist gave me someone else’s receipt, the vet never came back to talk with us after his procedure I had to ask for her again to get my questions answered and over all it was a horrible experience. These pets are a huge part of our lives and in emergencies there should be options and empathy. Do better Animal Emergency Center.
This is the most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with I have had over 15 dogs euthanized never ever have I had them treat me like I was treated today this company is all about telling you one price taking your credit card and running it for a totally different amount was quoted 378’.00 . dollars then got the it back and it was ran for 585.00 . Then they said I didn’t give them the opportunity to explain because I was upset . Because they kept my dog in the back for over an hour . I also told her I wanted my dog in the room with me . I feel they kept him back there as hostage. Until they got my credit card and they ran it I was very upset they knew that before I even came in I explained what was going they specifically asked what I wanted I stated verbatim what I wanted my best friend and me said both at the same time no DNR do not resuscitate not only did we say that we also said specifically we were there to get him put down and we wanted him cremated when I talked to her on the phone, I was quoted one prize, and then they ran my credit card for the other Don’t take your dog here whatever you do do not take your dog here if I could give them a zero rating I would give them zero rating. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau.
