Description Sweetgrass Animal Hospital reopened with new ownership in July of 2020. Dr. Chris Askins is thrilled to be back and serving his hometown of Summerville. At Sweetgrass Animal Hospital, we strive to deliver high-quality veterinary medical care to your pets in a stress-free environment, using the most progressive techniques in veterinary medicine. With this philosophy, we work with you—the pet owner—to find the best plan for your pet. Among the many veterinary services we provide are: regular wellness care (vaccines, heartworm/flea prevention, annual bloodwork), dental cleanings, surgery, radiographs, ultrasound and inhouse bloodwork.

We’ve been bringing our pups to Sweetgrass for more than two years, and they’ve been the absolute best! Very knowledgeable, very friendly, and always excellent service! We’re very happy to trust our pup’s health to the team at Sweetgrass!

Although they are very busy so it can be difficult to move your appointment date up sooner, they are incredibly kind both over the phone and in person. I came in with a laundry list of questions for the vet and talked the techs ear off about my concerns with our new pup. They did not rush out of the room, they listened intently, answered all of my questions to the best of their ability and made sure I felt comfortable with how to proceed. It helps that my pup was very comfortable with them! Checking in was quick and easy, very clean inside! Would absolutely recommend :)

Great hospital! Rooms are clean and all the staff have been kind, helpful and showed great care to us and our dog. They give great care and treat appropriately. They do not overtreat either which has been a relief on our wallets. (The front office cat is adorable too). Definitely recommend!

I have been very happy with Sweetgrass Animal Hospital! We recently moved to the area and adopted a lab mix. She had been treated for heartworm when we got her, so we have had a couple visits to make sure she is healing as expected and every visit the staff has been very friendly and patient with her. I love the reminder email and call that I get before an appointment so I don’t forget!

Great staff. Friendly, welcoming and calming to our dog. Dr. Askins Is very thourough and very easy to speak with. It is evident that the staff really love animals and care deeply. Pricing for service was also reasonable. We are so glad we found a great vet for our 4 pets.

This vet office is so amazing! Dr. Askins and the team are so pleasant and caring. They have taken such good care of my three kitties and they are willing to tell you the truth on what you should/shouldn't spend your money on. They even have nice little private waiting rooms for you and your pet so your fur baby can have a quiet space while you are waiting for their check up. 100% recommended this office.
