Very useless I have called to reported a stray dogs. The dogs growls at children. My little kids can’t play outside due to these large dogs. The dog has been roaming the neighborhood for over two months. Dorchester County Animal Control is to busy trying to fine for grass instead of picking up these dogs. Im beyond sick of this

Someone dumped 2 puppies on my property and I was forced to call animal control. I felt horrible about it. However, upon meeting the gentleman who came to pick them up I was relieved. He was clearly an animal person and couldn't have been more pleasant. Didn't get his name (4/5/22 12:30PM) Don't hesitate to call these guys when you need them!

Dozens of residents of our community have called to report a stray dog. A large dog that growls at children. The dog has been roaming the neighborhood for over a month. Dorchester County Animal Control hasn't even been out.

Today a dog was walking down the middle of 17 near Summerville. I think it was dumped. It was in bad shape, hot, and skin raw. I got the dog and called Dorchester animal control. I took the dog to a woman's house to use her hose to cool the dog off. Pam was an angel and helped me put the dog in her fenced yard. She brought out food and water. Animal control officer came 15 minutes from my call. He did a great job getting the dog in a cage on his truck. You always hear negative feedback on the world today. I thank Dorchester Animal control dispatch operator and the officer for their kindness, caring, and quick response. This dog was saved today. Shame on the family who dumped it. May she be blessed by new owners and be pampered with care. Thank you.

Chris Garbaciak truly is my hero. He arrived within 1 hour of my call regarding two dogs who happened upon our property. He was so incredibly kind to me and the dogs he came to rescue. Love him...There is no better soul for this kind of work🙂❤

An absolute joke. No one answers calls on the weekends and if you are lucky enough to get a hold of someone during the week they will do nothing. They tell you to take matters into your own hands to deal with animal. *Edited to add* 11/28/2017- It’s quite annoying that our tax money is paying for a service that literally does nothing. The neighbors dog once again almost killed my cat the other day and AC will NOT answer or return calls or make visits. It’s very frustrating. It’s sad when people will pick animals up and drive them to North Charleston so a NCPD Officer will make sure they make it to Charleston Animal Society.
