I absolutely love this place. I've gotten three of my pets here and they are the most amazing, sweetest little babies. I adopted one of my past cats here back in 2014 and she just passed last year. This shelter truly cares about its animals and it shows with how they give back to the community. I got one of my dogs for $0 during their Christmas clear the shelters event and this is the only shelter I've seen (at least in san diego) that will do that because all they want is for these animals to go to good homes. I truly appreciate this facility!

Excellent animal shelter that’s been the staple of giving necessary care for the animals for a very long time. The facility is very clean, no bad smells, and looks like the animals are well taken care of. Very detailed oriented facility which is a good thing. Many of these shelters are overwhelmed with animals due to irresponsible people breeding or tossing them away like getting rid of their old stuffed animals. The shelter workers do their very best to give these animals love and support they so deserve. Although, customer service can be slow, I understand and appreciate the time they take and the meticulous process & protocol they have to follow because at the end, everything is for the wellness of the animals. *Please consider adopting or fostering if you are looking for a pet*

Very sad place to visit. Went multiple times when looking for a dog. One visit it was extremely hot that day and none of the dogs had water, many had peed and poop in their cells, I watched a volunteer "cool" down their areas by spraying a hose with the dogs in there terrified, soaking everything and then going to the next cell. The dogs didn't have toys, and many just looked so broken and scared. Visiting this place left me in tears many times. I did decide I wanted to adopt a dog from here to get them out of this place and I did meet one staff member who was truly very nice and seemed to care a lot for these dogs. With all this said I adopted a high energy husky mix (older) puppy. For $25 I got him and he was neutered, microchipped, and given a 1 year registration. He is one of the best dogs, he can be naughty and stubborn (hello husky!), but he is so easy going. He has made the best hiking companion and snuggle bug.

Friendly, Caring Staff Employees & volunteers work hard to keep animals healthy, safe & exercised. The team took time to help us find the right pet for our family. FYI: Donations needed for their 🐇Rabbits - Fresh: Carrots, Bell Peppers, Cilantro, Green & Red Leaf Lettuce, Mustard Greens, Romaine Lettuce (no iceberg or butter) Parsley, Watercress, Dandelion Greens & Oranges. Drop off during their open hours.

Losing respect for all humane society offices and their officers and workers, especially the way they look at bully breeds and how they are looking at any way possible to take these dogs from their owners and euthanize them. Their officers are so full of hate towards pit bulls that they shouldn't be working and dealing with the public with that much hate towards one/any breed
