Ricochet is an incredible girl. She is a four legged angel on earth. Whether helping disabled soldiers and others, surfing with special needs kids or any of the other ways she shows her love to all, Ric has improved so many lives she has touched. Her sister Cori also helps people improve the quality of lives, helping special needs children overcome their fear of water.

I love reading about Surf Dog Ricochet and her adventures helping handicapped and special needs children and adults in enjoying life and doing things they probably never thought they would be able to do. This is a wonderful place to see the benefits of what a loving and patient dog can do for someone. Dogs have always had that special way about them and bring people out of their comfort zone and Surf Dog Ricochet is among the best at doing that. I highly recommend that people check out this site and see for themselves the wonderful work being done by Surf Dog Ricochet and Cori too.

We have worked with Ricochet approximately 6 years through a program of therapy dogs who help our active duty military who may be interested in acquiring a service dog in the future to help them their civilian life. This group has outings throughout San Diego while the participants take the leash and allow the dog to guide them. Ricochet is an exceptional dog as she quickly bonds with her person, sensing if there is any stress or danger. She is the most “tuned in” dog we have ever met, extremely sensitive to others needs, even if she has just met them. She seems to “feel” things our other dogs ignore. She is perhaps the most intelligent canine we have ever met after having retrievers of our own over 40 years. Annette

The healing qualities that Ricochet was born with, is more than just what you would expect from your average golden retriever. I have three golden retrievers and they are remarkable dogs. But Ricochet can look into my eyes and see inside my soul. Ricochet's mom, Judy Fridono, has been able to interpret many of the things Ricochet does. It is especially evident when Ricochet is working with the military. Ricochet has helped so many with PTSD. I have seen her change lives. People who had given up hope are now able to be integrated back into every day situations that used to terrify them. Something as simple as going to the grocery store, was too traumatic. This is just one of the many things that Ricochet does. She is brilliant with special needs children. She somehow knows what they need at that moment. I feel so very fortunate to personally experience the spiritual feeling of Ricochet's eyes. Just like a wise old soul. There will never be another Ricochet. She's just a regular dog at first sight, but she is so much more.❤
