This is a wonderful veterinary practice. I have a really scared and protective pup and the staff is so helpful and comforting with her. I can’t thank them enough for the patience and kindness they show us at every visit.

I’ve been taking my cat here for 13 years and my dog for 10. My pets are so important to me, but so is my budget. I know I can trust the vets at Intown Animal Hospital to take care of both of them but also steer me towards care that is actually needed, not just what will make them money. I have worked with Dr Carlson and Dr Huggins. Both of them are very caring and go above and beyond. I recently had a concerning bloodwork result with my cat and Dr Huggins took the time to explain my options to me, and was very understanding of my skepticism and concern. She eased my worries and helped guide me through a scary time. This most recent visit was on a Friday, and I was not expecting results back until the next week, but she took the time to email me on a Sunday evening with the test results. I was so thankful for receiving the good news so soon. I have referred many friends to this practice and will continue to do so.

I have been taking by dogs to Intown Animal Hospital for many years and they are outstanding. Both Dr. Carlson and Dr. Huggins are so knowledgeable, professional, caring and compassionate. And the staff are fabulous - again, knowledgeable, caring, and so helpful every time I needed them. All were especially comforting when I lost one of my dogs, cannot compliment them enough!!!

Go to Intown in the VA Highlands area and see Dr Huggins. My pets have been patients of Dr Huggins for YEARS (10+) and I trust her 10000000%. Aside from her expert level doctoring, her winning characteristic is that she cares. She will always treat you and your pet with complete consideration and she invests her own heart into your pet's wellbeing. Cannot recommend enough.

They are the best. The best. Dr. Abby Huggins had to diagnose my beloved 6 year-old beagle with a very aggressive cancer, but she literally held my hand (and his) through the entire process of exploring various treatment options. She gave me honest assessments of the extremely low likelihood of success, but supported my decision to try anyway. Blue Pearl treated him for the cancer, but Dr. Huggins was always available, for him and for me. Losing him 3 years ago was devastating, but it would have been unbearable without her support and the amazing, kind-hearted, capable staff at Intown Animal Hospital. I couldn’t have survived it without them. They are not just great veterinarians - they are great humans.
