MarQueen saved my cat’s life! I am so grateful to the entire veterinarian team for their professionalism, expertise, and clear communication throughout our cat’s hospital stay. Our 4-year-old cat was referred here due to a foreign body obstruction in his digestive system. The collaboration with our normal vet was seamless and MarQueen took my cat in right away for treatment. The team was upfront about the price of my cat’s surgery and while expensive, it’s to be expected when you consider it is an emergency room for pets that requires expensive equipment and medications. The team of highly skilled specialists here also means your pet is getting the best care! Dr. Martin called with frequent updates about our cat’s condition during the 2-night hospital stay, and Dr. Walsh performed the surgery to remove 5 rubber pieces from my cat’s stomach and small intestine. The front office staff is very friendly, and I found their website to be extremely helpful and reassuring during a stressful time. Having a pet in a life-threatening situation is very scary, and I can’t say enough about how wonderful our experience was at MarQueen. When our next pet emergency arises, we will return here without a doubt. (They sent our cat home with a surgery suit, visible in the photo.)
Dr. Cohen and all the other vet staff at Marqueen did an amazing job with our cat who we had no idea what was upsetting his tummy and causing him to not eat for 5 days. He got a diagnosis and lots of great treatment and daily updates on his progress here. I will add pics as soon as we get him home to show how he's doing! Thanks again everyone at Marqueen. Update 3/31 he's resting. Not hungry just yet we'll see in the morning. He is looking much better overall though.
Carissa is an actual angel. She helped me tremendously during the initial intake process, and is genuinely the only reason I’m writing this review. Your babies falling ill is such a terrifying experience and can be incredibly lonely. I called just about every vet in the NorCal area (many of which recommended MarQueen). Carissa was the only person that followed up/called me. Her knowledge and compassion was such a bright light when I was struggling and something that I will always be thankful for. My pup was hospitalized with MarQueen for about a week. During that time, we worked and met with a number of staff (honestly, the amount of vets they have here is impressive). I had one quality of care concern that was immediately addressed. Overall, I hope I never have to return to MarQueen but they would be my first call if faced with a pet emergency.
Always clean , very responsive staff, they take the time to listen to your concerns and explain things to you. I’m an extremely worried pet parent and they were more than patient with all my concerns and questions. My dog developed pyometria and had surgery in very happy with the care she received
Update: in response to MarQueen reply: When i asked if there was a clinic manager on site that I could speak with the 2 employees behind the desk were "unsure" (both verbal and physical reponses) and one said she would go look. I did not have confidence per the experience I had already endured that anyone would return after "2 minutes" as you say but it felt longer. I mentioned per my first call, as well as to the triage employee that i was a military service disabled Veteran, 100% and my dog was how I navigate life. My dog had not had food or water in 24hrs, was pooping blood, and i was scared. The clerk behind the front desk, responding to my concerns of waiting without any update was smug and totally lacked compassion exasperating my frustration. His update to me: "the vet is finishing up with a patient"- which meant what? He did not say my dog would be seen next. It wasbgetting dark and we had 80 mile drive home. I was not told "Im sorry for the lack of communication", or even "you have not been forgotten, there have been emergencies..." nothing.. just a smug smile and look from the front desk guy. My experience deteroriated over the hours there, i arrived scared for my dog but in high spirits, happy, hopeful he would recieve what I'd been told would be awesome care. #1 way to make a situation worse when someone is in distress- stare at them and smile. I imagine there are cameras in the reception.. perhaps watch the situation as it happened. I called Marqueen on a Tuesday morning for my military service dog who has been vomiting, has had diarrhea for 5 days. He stopped eating and drinking and i was scared. I live 2hrs away and was told there would be a long wait but that "my name would be put into the queue" so we headed to Loomis arriving around noon. We sat in the reception area for 5hrs and were not told anything. Everything else was more serious I assumed... at 5:30pm I had to leave. Not able to see another Vet because we'd been there all day. Never again. Very stressful for my service dog and best friend. Also, 5hrs of listening to people asked at checkin, in the lobby, if they would want CPR performed if their animal stopped breathing then seeing a vet tech come out to tell them their animal stopped breatingn and if they wanted CPR performed they needed to pay $100 first. A tech seriously came out and told a mother and young boy "your dog stopped breathing, do you want us to do cpr? If so you need to pay $100 first". Also, scrutinize your bill there at the hospital while your animalnis being treated! A lady was given a bill and started questioning it. Her husband had verbally authorized up $1,400 and she was being told they needed authorization for more. She questioned why full anstesia for stitches and asked to see pictures of her cats injury or her cat and this tech started back peddling on the state of the injury and admitted the cat would not be fully anesthetized. The owner of the cat was a nurse and calling out the over charging in front of everyone- awkward. I dont know if they do a good job or not regarding emergency treatment but it feels like it's more about money than anything else. It was a gross and terrible experience.
Dr Walsh and the entire team of doctors and staff are the best! Dr. Walsh saved Garfield (yes, my overweight orange cat) twice now. Once for a bladder full of tiny stones and recently for 5 polyps in his stomach. The entire team of specialty doctors and ER doctors practice the best medicine and are passionate about what they do.
