Mikayla, Maria, Maddi, Emilee and all of the staff were professional and they kindly and efficiently answered all of our questions during the process of our adopting Winnie. We have dealt with many rescues over the years and Black Dog, which we used for the first time, was an excellent experience. Highly recommend this gem of an organization, so glad to have them right here in our community. Cheers!

Their cost is getting out of control also they are not what I would call totally honest about the dogs they have. We got a dog from them several years ago and were told that he was good with other dogs, was kennel trained, and house trained. We understand there would be some adjustment time. He never would go in a kennel, had to completely house trained him as if he was a new puppy when he was almost a year old. Worst of all we are still having issues with him and other dogs. Even on a walk he will try and attack other dogs that are bigger than him. We are trying to get a second dog and tried fostering a 4 month old puppy and he has bitten her twice for just walking by has become food aggressive. I have had dogs all my life so I know how to work with dogs saddens me that now that I have the space for more than one dog I'm not sure I can now.

Was denied a placement for my dad's dog who passed away and heard that black dog was the best option to get him into a good home. I was denied because I don't know if he gets along with other male dogs he's only ever lived with a female dog and had no problems. I was turned down because they go into foster homes and have to meet requirements and unfortunately he didn't meet one and was denied. Overall heard good things about black dog but sad that we were not given an opportunity to find my dad's dog a placement with them.

Staff was very friendly and helpful in helping me find the perfect dog for my family. We are still working on potty training so we keep the leash on and he doesn't get to be alone
