***BUYERS BEWARE*** After my beloved 10 year old Dachshund died of cancer it left me heartbroken! I recently purchased a Black & Tan dachshund puppy who looked similar to my doxie. During my visit & purchase I spoke to the manager Jamison & briefly the owner Leonard. The puppy was 2 months old & I have no idea of weight because that information was not given to me or on paperwork, maybe 2-3 lbs. ? Jamison briefly (supposedly) told me what the contract said but I had no idea what a lot of it meant. It was busy at check out & I was focused on the puppy. The “health guarantee” was a huge selling point for an almost 3K puppy but I never dreamed I’d have to return him. I did mention to Jamison at check out I noticed the puppies eyes had some discharge. It was disregarded. My friend was with me for the entire purchase & return. Our drive home was about 1 hour. When we got home later the puppy started vomiting. I immediately called & spoke to Jamison, he blamed it on car sickness & I was told to give it time. Puppy threw up 2 times during the night. Puppy was not drinking water & would not eat any of the food they sent home canned or dried. (The food listed on the contract was Nulo however that is not what they sent home. They gave me Nutri Source.) I called store day 2 spoke to Jamison, he said he was going to have the kennel tech Anya call me back. I received a call back, was told to feed puppy plain chicken & rice & could also do hamburger & rice. The puppy did eat but was still not drinking water. Anya told me to give puppy low sodium chicken broth. I did try that & he did drink some. Anya also told me to put drop of honey on my finger & let puppy lick to prevent hypoglycemia. Later puppy started having horrible diarrhea & then into diarrhea with blood which terrified me. Then the puppy quit playing at all. I was up 48 hours straight with him. He was so restless & couldn’t get comfortable. All I got was excuses & blame. I called my Vet & 1 more. I couldn’t get in quickly. I did send pictures to my Vet & she was concerned its Parvo especially since the symptoms he had. The other vet I called said the same thing. I informed Anya the puppy had been sick since day one & I was bringing him back. I didn’t have the funds to spend $2950 on a puppy & immediately take on emergency care. I still had all his “well care” expenses ahead too. I took the puppy back & only received $1600 a partial refund. And what’s really frightening is Leonard put the puppy on their counter & said he “didn’t see anything concerning”. His staff tried to get the puppy to eat & drink he refused. Leonard had no idea what was even wrong with the puppy but exposed the store, staff & other puppies. And per Anya when I asked about the puppy food she said “bring back his food we will dump it in the food bin” & also use his dog bed in the back. WOW seriously? He’s sick! I called to follow up on Sat spoke to Aneesa she said puppy “still not eating his kibble” but they have him with his brother puppy. I asked her if someone had been with him during the night & she said no. He was also still having diarrhea too. To date on Mon per Anya the puppy had not been taken to the vet. They were trying different food & probiotics. They said his stools were “starting to clear up”. Over the course of purchase to return I have called numerous times, texted numerous times, left messages numerous times with never a requested return phone call from Leonard the owner. Also Leonard & his wife are supposedly the breeders. I’ve filed a CC investigation & dispute. I have also contacted a Colorado puppy advocate who is instrumental in advocating for puppies sold in stores & or puppy mills. Clearly the puppy was sick from the time of purchase. This was all so horrible to put a precious tiny puppy through all this as well as me especially since I just lost my dog to cancer. I will never buy another puppy in a pet store ever! I hope & pray the puppy recovers. Again Buyer Beware! See attached pictures.

First time ever buying a puppy from a store. The staff were all very friendly and knowledgeable. We've had him now for 5 months, and he is a super healthy and happy little guy. I am very happy and grateful that we were able to give him a home.

We wanted a puppy for our special needs son. His dog was getting a bit older and we wanted to ease the transition for when she did pass. The staff at Frontier pets assisted us with looking at multiple puppies, answering questions about numerous breeds and just in general being incredibly helpful. We added this adorable Pomeranian to our family and it has been a wonderful experience. We have now had her 4 months. She is healthy, was super easy to potty train and bonded so well with my son. I can’t recommend this store enough. The pets are well cared for, the staff is knowledgeable and friendly. On another note - I’ve never received such a great starter puppy package. Talk about a great deal! (Kennel, bowl, leash, collar, shampoo, a chew bone, and a full nutrition package).

Leonard and his staff are the best! His animals are too notch and very well cared for! Bought English bulldog from him 6 1/2yrs ago and just returned to add to the family. Went out all the way from Michigan to pick up another bulldog puppy and came home with two!!! Thanks again Leonard

This place should be shut down. The puppies are literally stuck in a tiny cage with their own feces, and all have to fight for water. They say the puppies come from “ethical” breeders but can’t describe what “ethical” means to them. The animals don’t even all look healthy!! There’s a reason why most states ban stores like this, they should be banned to.

getting our German Shepherd from frontier pets was a great experience! Jameson Was so nice he was there to answer any questions that we had He made the process really easy and was super friendly. Plus, when you buy a puppy, you get a kennel, a bed, food, treats, toys, a leash and collar and dog bowls. Puppies are up-to-date on current shots and you also get a free first pet visit at the local clinic to check out your pup. They have multiple different companies they work with for different types of payment plans. I really recommend frontier pets. Some may think the puppies are a bit expensive, but honestly it’s worth it you know what you’re getting and they are registered
