Can’t get past the phone tree to make a donation!!! Very frustrating when you are trying to help!! You need a person to answer the phone!!!!

The only place to put your things are in the room with beds which is full so if you have bags you got to carry them in and out every single time you exit the building. They don't care if you have nowhere to go and no one. They will immediately throw your stuff away if you leave it there for more then half an hour. They have one camera that watches the restroom to discourage drug use but no others so people can just help themselves to your stuff anyway. They have washer and dryers but they are always full. The showers do get hot and the restrooms are OK but there is always blood and stuff on the walls in the stalls. They have favoritism for people as well. They will kick someone out for being loud and disruptive but if it's someone they like the person can be loud and even threaten/bully other residents without any repercussions as long as they don't actually lay hands on anyone.

3 stars only. They dont distribute clothing for the homeless. Instead they throw it all in a back room, mentioning that it belongs to the shelter. This includes donations. In addition, the 6pm curfew time is kind of ridiculous since there are those who work late. The shelter is almost always full & the washing machine is always breaking. Folks will take your valuables from your closet & throw utter trash in it, saying its your fault. Not even the shelter in New Iberia was like that. Needs to do better. Also, inspections are near everyday, if not once a week. If you are found with anything that they see is unauthorized, they kick you almost immediately. But hey! Decent place to get a bed to sleep. 🙂👉 Mark B has a big heart, but I don't think he has the right vision.
