Description For The Birds of Acadiana is a 501 (c)3 non-profit organization founded in 2020. We operate a private, wild bird rehabilitation sanctuary in the heart of Lafayette, Louisiana. Our mission is to educate and promote a responsible concern for the preservation and conservation of native songbirds and migratory birds through our efforts of rescue, rehabilitation and release.

Julie helped us 3 years ago, so when we found an ill mockingbird, we called her again. We now live 2 hours away, but she gave us great info and helped us find someone local. She is so kind and compassionate, and is the sweetest person. Thank you for all you do! 🩷

I texted For The Birds of Acadiana in the middle of the night, and they let me drop off an injured baby bird first thing in the morning. I’m so relieved to know there are amazing people out here saving birds in our community. If I had a million dollars right now I’d donate it all to them. This is what life is all about. Very thankful that organizations like this exist in this world.
