We had a fabulous experience at the Montana Grizzly Encounter. We were able to enjoy 5-year old Max playing in the open enclosure. It is incredible how close Max was to us, so we were able to take some fantastic photos and videos. The staff was very knowledgeable as they did several "talks" to the public while we were there. The sound system was excellent so it felt like they were standing right next to us, having a personal conversation with us. They also spoke to anyone individually who had questions. We were SO happy to have discovered this opportunity to see Grizzlies..

Great place to see grizzlies if you miss them in Yellowstone. They're super informative about grizzlies, grizzly safety, and the history of their sanctuary. Everything was very ethical, and they even work with USDA and Fish and Wildlife when receiving their rescue grizzlies, so that made us feel really good about the work they are doing, and that it isn't at all like a private zoo. We got to see Max, their largest grizzly, and he was quite the playful bear. Plus it's so cheap, really a great value. Good place to spend an hour or two and see some grizzlies while you're in Bozeman.

This was a really cool experience. The staff is very informative and helpful. Seeing the bears in a natural habitat was an exhilarating and unique experience to get a close-up look from a safe distance. They have a small gift shop with sales going towards the grizzly.

Such a great place. The staff is very friendly and informative. We were lucky to see all 3 bears but would have been thrilled to see just 1 of them. They do great work and the background story is amazing. I highly recommend visiting and supporting the Montana Grizzly Encounter.

We had an amazing experience! I could’ve spent all day observing these amazing grizzlies! We saw Max, he was so cute and you are relatively close to him, with a barrier of course. Very educational and informative, with a guide talking about bears & bear spray safety. I learned a lot, and actually wish we came here at the beginning of our trip! Helpful tips for being safe. Worth the stop and $$!!

My wife and I have a great experience at the Grizzly Encounter. Bella (one of the bears) was out and very lively. While watching here we were given a lot of information about where the bears come from, how they care for the bears, and an in-depth safety talk on how to deal with any bears that might be found on the Montana trails. They also offer bear spray rentals if you're someone who plans to walk many of the nearby trails and want some extra safety just in case. If you don't use the bear spray, you can return it for a partial refund or they can also dispose of any used cans safely.
