I have now adopted my dog and cat from this wonderful animal shelter. I fostered my dog off and on for a couple weeks before deciding I couldn’t not welcome her into my family! Bailey is my favorite employee and she has been very helpful throughout every process here. Definitely recommend fostering with HOV if that is something you’re able to do, or come walk the pups to give them some outside time! Obviously highly recommend coming to look for your next furry family member if you have the means to bring one into your home 💜 Cookie now lives her best life with me and endless car rides through the country!

When my cat who was adopted from HoV went missing, they were amazing at helping file a report, and getting the information out online as well. 31 days later, my kitty came home on her own after I had already adopted another from them and they have been a great resource in helping me assist both cats to get along. Great people! Very caring and compassionate about their pets AND the adopters! Kudos for several great experiences 👏 👍🏻 👌.

Went to just look at some cats and absolutely fell in love with my lil boy Cheese and couldn't leave him, we've been inseparable ever since. Staff was super friendly and helpful!

This was one of the best animal shelters I've visited! It was very clean. The staff were very friendly. Animals looked healthy and not stressed. Many were very affectionate! I adored the treat buckets for the dogs! They really enjoyed getting extra snacks!

HOV treated us with extreme kindness and support in a difficult time. Our sweet pup, only about 8 months old, got hit by a car suddenly near our house and didn’t make it. We had discovered she was brought into the shelter and the manager Kate took wonderful care of her remains and supported us all the way through. We were led to another beautiful doggy soul and we couldn’t happier to love on him. Kate and staff do a great job no matter the circumstances. Thank you all!

In all my years never been to a more fantastic huge clean upbeat amazing and loving ❤️ animal shelter.its obvious that the animals here are loved and so well taken care of. They def come first. Staff and volunteers are VERY VERY well trained and top notch! It was more like a high end pet hotel that you would want to leave your beloved pet when you left for holiday! Bird is a 9 month old German Shepherd absolutely stole me heart and is up for adoption as I write this I doubt he will last long! I considered adopting him but it wouldn't be fair to him to take him home to Peterborough from the mountains here in Montana....and honestly....he will find a wonderful home here fast. This place is a no kill and the length of stay is super short here...... congrats HEART OF THE VALLEY YOU ROCK.
