The folks and feathered ambassadors at ACCA are top-notch! Schedule a tour of the Avian Education Center, or arrange a presentation, when you can - the facility is fantastic, and the stories behind the birds need to be heard, and the educational aspect is wonderful! Iβd love to visit more often.
I dropped off two baby birds that I rescued from a nest in a cable box where two of the chicks had already died, either from excessive heat in the metal box or because mother stopped coming back. I was able to drop the two baby birds off at Cheat Lake Animal hospital and was told ACCA could track my birds by my last name and let me know how they were doing/provide an update. I did not get an update until 4 days later despite talking to different people each day who couldn't help, so I recommend they be a little more organized or manage expectations better by saying it will take several days before hearing anything. I understand they are a volunteer organization and not everybody is on site at the same time. The birds are said to have been renested and rehydrated. I am glad that they seem like they will make a full recovery. I would probably use them again, understanding that they might not be able to get back to me for many days.
Outstanding is all you need to say π We had a tree company ( no names ) cut down a tree across the street from our house To clear for power line's. After they left I went over to get some of the wood they cut up As I was loading up the wood I hear a muffled noise so I started looking digging down In the brush I find a baby woodpecker with no feathers on it's back put him in the truck Then went to look for more and yep found one more cold wet and shivering. So we put them in a box with some rags and got them warm we called to get the little Some help and to our amazement they came 70 miles to get them WAY TO GO GUY'S can't tell you how much we appreciated that We are retired and love watching and feeding the birds and squirrels THANK YOU VERY MUCH ππππ
I have called many times and can not get an answer I have sent emails and the same result I am starting to think no one is there ever
