My experiences with Animal Friends of NCWV is amazing! We have adopted twice from here. My mom, best friends, cousins, and multiple coworkers have too! The process is seamless and the staff is amazing. I especially feel for them during this time with the flood of animals needing rescuing. I also know it must be a task to sift through each and every application when you get so many for one animal. That being said, huge props for vetting the adoption process and verifying past animal care for each potential new fur mom and dad! I will continue to sing your praises and send friends and family your way!

Animal Friends is a great place to adopt a pet! They are so caring and compassionate about all the animals they care for while awaiting the perfect adopters. We have an 11 year old wonderful little dog from there as well as a 5 year old perfect kitty! I volunteered there for 9 years until we moved a few years ago and have personal experience with Katie, the shelter manager, and the faithful volunteers. Everyone there wants only the best for each animal in their care! Morgantown is very fortunate to have Animal Friends in the area.

Awesome and exceptionally responsible adoption program. Love how much they care for their fur babies finding only the most responsible, loving homes. Have adopted two babies from/through them and would definitely adopt any further family members through them. They have always been there for any necessary follow up questions or assistance. Everyone I know who has adopted through them feel the exact same.

I have worked with and known Animal Friends for many years now, and my family adopted our incredible kitten from them 8 years ago. They care endlessly for the animals they take in, and they work their butts off to do everything imaginable to care for as many cats and dogs as they possibly can. Our kitten (now a big and goofy cat) is a beloved family member, and our home would be incomplete without him. I can’t thank Animal Friends enough for all they do for the community and everything they did to help make our family complete. They truly have the best interests of all parties involved in mind and do all they can to accommodate those needs appropriately. I can and will continue to recommend them to anyone I encounter who is searching for a furry, four- (or sometimes three-) legged friend to add to their family.

A great No Kill shelter. There are several rooms that they have the animals divided into, keeping the lil ones from older animal. The rooms are clean and full of toys. The employees are knowledgeable and love the animals they care for. They provide private time to allow to get to know the animal you wish to adopt. You pay a $90 fee for the animal, that includes their initial vet visit and being neutered (that is a deal!). They also provide you some food to get your new pet going. Make sure you bring a pet carrier.

I'm writing to express my outrage over the treatment I received this month, particularly after being terminated from Animal Friends on October 12th. After a year of hard work, including fostering two puppies who found homes, I am appalled by the lack of appreciation for my dedication. Despite enduring personal challenges, like a broken foot and a grueling two-mile trek to care for the animals, I consistently went above and beyond, covering extra shifts and stepping in for colleagues. Yet, when I needed support, I was met with indifference. Being told "I can't make anyone come in" was disheartening, especially given my unwavering commitment. I can’t help but wonder if my honesty about my mental health played a role in my termination. I poured my heart and soul into this role, only to see my efforts dismissed. I strongly advise anyone considering support for Animal Friends of North Central West Virginia to think twice. The blatant disregard for dedicated employees is appalling.
