I adopted the cutest little kitten he was 2 months old and he's been a perfect little animal ever since he's going to be my best little friend

I went to Sammy's friends to look for an older dog preferably a lab. They had a cross breed named Flint .Very good looking dog . Maybe 1 to 11/2 years old. Boy did i get a line of crap! What ever! Made an appointment to come back with my wife's little French Bull dog to see if they were compatible. Was told this time a totally different story. Met Mr. know it all of the dog profession. The dog had been abused by some one, he had been there for quit a few months. I sat down with the dog and he was very dossel. I told mister know it all I would like to take the dog, so I go inside to make a nice donation ( no adoptions FEE'S at present time ) , and was told i didn't qualify to adopt Flint. I live on 40 acres, 2.5 miles back off the highway ( McCourtney Rd. I was a dog handler in the service. Handled a sentry dog. I am just disgusted with Sammy' friends, not at all what I expected at all. Gary Wheeler

Terrible place and a bunch of rude, liars. They gave us a sick dog. We took him to our vet who tested him and we spent $400 on him. Found out he had Giardia. 3 weeks later and 3 rounds of heavy meds he still had Giardia. We were told by the Vet AND the Shelter, Bridget (employee) to give him ONLY rice, pumpkin, and some digestion special food to which we did due to his diareah. After 3 weeks of him being sick we decided to surrender him to get well. When we surrendered him, the front desk lady asked if we wanted him back once he was well, while I was crying my eyes out. We were so attached. I called back 2 weeks later and they refused to re-adopt the dog back to us, accused me of "starving" my dog and bringing him back "to skinny" according to Debbie. Mind you, we got Artie, our dog at 35 lbs and I brought him back at 42 lbs. Please explain how I "starved" my dog when he gained weight? I left messages for the manager, to no return, I called multiple times enquiring about our dog, Artie, to no return call. Everytime I called, they were extremely rude, and disrespectful. We did NOTHING but give our dog TONS of love. We did exactly what the vet told us to. This shelter is a bunch of crooks, and liars. Now after reaching out millions of time to no return, my dog was adopted out. My family is devastated.

Sammies is the cleanest most wonderful shelter I've ever seen. Everyone involved is so compassionate about the dogs and cats. They never give up on any of these great dogs. Their stories are varied, but it's not the dogs fault. They just want to have a home and be loved. I hope people will consider one of them. I hope people will volunteer to help in any way. The cat area is just the same clean compassionate people who care.

Great dogs cared by loving staff and volunteers. They take time to help you find the perfect dog for you and your family. Look no further for your new best friend.
