Sammies is the cleanest most wonderful shelter I've ever seen. Everyone involved is so compassionate about the dogs and cats. They never give up on any of these great dogs. Their stories are varied, but it's not the dogs fault. They just want to have a home and be loved. I hope people will consider one of them. I hope people will volunteer to help in any way. The cat area is just the same clean compassionate people who care.

I have got a dog from them. They were really pushing her on to us. The foster person told me the dog was not around dogs. We ended up taking her. We have 2 dogs of our own. 3 months later she attacked my dogs. I called Sammie’s asking them to help me. Evan said they can’t do anything since it’s been past 10 days. He lied and said she had been with other dogs. I tried trainers and said they can’t help me cause she is aggressive with other dogs and it’s behavioral issue. She is good with kids and family just not dogs. The dog attacked my dog again. And I spoke with Evan and he still tells me there is nothing he can do he is very rude and yells. I should have know not to adopt a dog from their when I saw him yell at a customer in front of everybody. I was shocked. And how he talked to me now I’m not shocked. So since they won’t take her back to be adopted to a good family with no other dogs. I spoke with my county and they will be euthanizing her. I don’t recommend adopting from them. They are very rude and don’t care about the animals. Evan is not a good manager and skills take business management class 291 on how to treat people.

Terrible place and a bunch of rude, liars. They gave us a sick dog. We took him to our vet who tested him and we spent $400 on him. Found out he had Giardia. 3 weeks later and 3 rounds of heavy meds he still had Giardia. We were told by the Vet AND the Shelter, Bridget (employee) to give him ONLY rice, pumpkin, and some digestion special food to which we did due to his diareah. After 3 weeks of him being sick we decided to surrender him to get well. When we surrendered him, the front desk lady asked if we wanted him back once he was well, while I was crying my eyes out. We were so attached. I called back 2 weeks later and they refused to re-adopt the dog back to us, accused me of "starving" my dog and bringing him back "to skinny" according to Debbie. Mind you, we got Artie, our dog at 35 lbs and I brought him back at 42 lbs. Please explain how I "starved" my dog when he gained weight? I left messages for the manager, to no return, I called multiple times enquiring about our dog, Artie, to no return call. Everytime I called, they were extremely rude, and disrespectful. We did NOTHING but give our dog TONS of love. We did exactly what the vet told us to. This shelter is a bunch of crooks, and liars. Now after reaching out millions of time to no return, my dog was adopted out. My family is devastated.

Sammie’s staff is amazing & wish I could adopt all the animals! Don’t buy a pet from a breeder, get an amazing companion here & if you can’t adopt, stop by & drop off treats for the poor animals that need a home❤️

These people lied and cheated me out of my own dog. They denied me any financial assistance also they denied any and all payment arrangements I could have made to receive my beloved dog to myself. No one takes better care of my dog than I do. My dog is my love and Sammies friends kept her from me and gave her to someone else and did not even try to give her back or even let me see her again. What if I did that to you? Huh? What would you do to get your love back from creeps and tyrants? Liars and thieves is what they really are.

We adopted Colby from Sammies and he was healthy and well taken care of by them when we got him. We are so happy we went to them. Will definitely go back when we’re ready for another cat or dog!
