Description Individuals from all over New York City come to Animal Care Centers every day of the week for reasons as diverse as reclaiming lost pets, adopting new furry family members and getting resources to help them keep their pets in homes. We strive to find loving homes for homeless and abandoned cats, dogs, and rabbits, both by adopting animals directly to the public and by partnering with more than 200 dedicated animal placement organizations (our New Hope partners). Our field services division responds to calls from the public to help keep NYC communities safe and rescue animals in need, and we have facilities in all five boroughs. Join us in our mission to end animal homelessness in NYC!

Smaller than expected; the City could have built a larger facility and this location is not easily accessible by public transportation. It's a 2+ hour trip served by the bus line. I noticed it's on the S74 bus route which goes to the Ferry. Shortest travel time is by car (of course that depends on the starting location). Clean, quiet area still being developed nearby. About a 5-10 minute walk from a mall which has a Shop Rite, Regal movie theater and Target.
At least there is a place for all these animals, but they use euthanasia too quickly. I reluctantly had to surrender a cat, and within 3 days of being up for adoption, all cats over a year old, which was like 9 of them, ended up removed. I questioned it and them and was told they were adopted. I don't believe that many senior cats found a home all in one day. I have rescued a dog from here and still have him 8 years later.
Help save Zoey from getting euthanized! Zoey was found by my friend Destiny who found Zoey just skin and bones and nourished her back to life, took her to the vet, and even got Zoey to open up to her. Destiny fostered Zoey until she couldn’t anymore due to personal reasons and decided to bring her here thinking Zoey would find a forever home. However, they aren’t even giving Zoey a chance to find a home and want to euthanize her! Once Destiny found about this, she has been pleading for you guys to release Zoey back to her! They are refusing! You’d rather let a sweet baby girl get euthanized than get love and care from those willing to give that to her. Please please please release Zoey back to Destiny!
We decided to go see some of younger cats, we were looking for a companion for our 7 month old kitten. They staff we dealt with was knowledgeable and sweet. We brought home a 1 year old cat named Bernard. He was very for the first week and then...
Amazing people that are compassionate and actually care about animals and their owners. Zero greed or profiteering like you have from so many veterinarians. Makes you very happy to donate to their effort.
