Look, this is a no-kill shelter, not a pet store, and they run on donations. They're doing the best they can on a shoe-string budget with volunteer staff. Could the place use some TLC? Absolutely. It's easy be negative. Not so easy to help: volunteer some time, make small donation... We adopted a sweet little cat from here last month and she's absolutely thriving with us, she's the love of our lives. She was a hard-to-adopt kitty because of things that happened with her previous owner (I won't go into that). Animal Control would have euthanized her. She's beautiful inside and out, and we're glad she ended up here instead. We were very interested in her but we also thought: if we go elsewhere, who will help these animals and this staff? If you want a high-end pet, look for a breeder. But if you want to help and put a little good into the lives of these people and the animals they try to help, then step up in some way.

To begin with, the "shelter", or ranch as they call it, is very difficult to find. I had called several times with no one answering the phone, and no way to leave a message. It is in a remote area, on a dirt road, and there was no signage to indicate we were there - not even the street number. We pulled into what we hoped was the driveway, and did see the address on a sign way in the back by a building marked "office". We went in and there was no one there except two cats and a strong odor. We then went to a house like structure and looked in the windows of a room, which had several cats in it sitting in the windows. Most of them did not look healthy. We could hear the phone ringing, and a man stepped into the room, we yelled to him, but he didn't hear us and left quickly. There was a long kennel behind the house with barking dogs, but that also didn't bring any workers out. After seeing the condition of the grounds and the cats, we chose to leave. I think SPCA needs to investigate this shelter. I would not recommend adopting an animal from here.

Horrible experience, we had gotten a little black kitten a month ago from this place and the lady said she was 8 weeks old and was ready to go. She was really tiny but was told she was like the runt. Her eyes started swelling and oozing so We got her into the vet that same week and the vet said she was not 8 weeks she was only 4 about to be 5 weeks and was not suppose to be away from the mother and she had herpes and could not be around any other animals and could not be up against us and we had to wear gloves while touching her. We have spent hundreds of dollars so far in this past month trying to get her well but the medications and everything does not seem to be helping. It’s very sad and no animal should have to go through this. I can’t imagine what the other animals at this place have to go through! Definitely do not recommend getting an animal from this place, these animals deserve so much better!

Hard to believe that out of towner. Talking smack about the cleanliness. That staff works very hard to get the job done for a reasonable price. Please tell her to take her business elsewhere.

Adopted two kittens paid almost 200 dollars in adoption fees. Part of those fees were for health screening of the kittens. Long story short: both had a terminal illness. One died within 2 months. The second is very sickly and has infected our third cat. So that's three cats now with FelV. I saw that another user had a similar experience. These people have no clue how to take care of cats and should be investigated for neglect.

Facility is very run down and needs some TLC. The staff seem loving to the animals. The adult cat room was very large and the cats seemed healthy and friendly. The kitten room was a mess, way too many in a small 5x5 room. Some were sick and very under weight. I did not have to wait the 24hrs to adopt even though paperwork said that was policy. Long story short…..Now I have a very sick kitten that seemed to be healthy and active at the time. Tried calling to get more information about health and diet while at the facility and no one answers or returns phone calls. I took her to the emergency vet to get her the care that she needs and hoping that she will make it. Someone needs to step up and help these animals like they should be. Update: She did not make it. Such a Sad thing
