I've rescued quite a few animals from here. I went at the end of December when they had a free adoption event. None of the kittens I wanted were available, however, I did come upon the sweetest cat (2 or 3 years old). She wasn't ready yet so I had to wait a couple of weeks. I went and picked her up yesterday and it was smooth sailing! I filled out the final adoption paperwork and I was out. Good experience! 👍

Sooooo many cats, I wanted to take them all home. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I drove 45 minutes to get there and very glad I did. Much more of a selection of cats than any other country shelter around. I will be picking up my two cats tomorrow. 😁

The shelter is tucked away off a country road. It's clean and cheerful, with the adoptable cats across from the office in nice, newer cabitats. Lorena was great helping me and referred me to TJ to help retrieve two cats previously adopted from our rescue. He was in a word, fabulous. The shelter staff couldn't be more accommodating and friendly. There is a sincere love for the animals that I forgot that this is a county shelter. Cleocatra and Dinkins are shown here. Abandoned at a construction site in a taped-up box, they were adopted 8 years ago. Fortunately, the person who discovered them took them to the right place. Thank you, Hernando County Animal Shelter.

Adopted our 1st dog here and now getting our 2nd also. They are a great place! People are awesome, they make the process so quick and easy. We've been to other places that make it so difficult to adopt its almost like they don't want to get the dogs into a home. The dogs all seem so happy and friendly here! Really can't say enough good things about this shelter.

Went to renew licenses for 2 of my dogs. Staff was friendly, and helpful. I've adopted dogs from animal services in the past and have always had good experiences.

I can't say enough on how a beautiful job that all the staff do down there I was lucky enough to follow a stray that was collected buy Animal Control took me a week to get her and I was not looking to adopt until my little pepper I hope all the animals can have a happy story like I gave pepper good luck in your adventure with a new dog.new pictures 5and a half years later .my best friend
