Sad experience here today. This place has lost all concept of what a shelter’s mission should be… to get animals into loving homes. My partner and I are new to the area, just moved into a new home and have decided we are ready for a kitten. Went into the shelter to see a few kittens, to which we were prompted to fill out an application. Within the application I noted that we let our 6 year old cat outside. Now by outside, I mean that she sits on the porch with us in the evenings and mornings because she enjoys rolling on the concrete. I would say she spends 5% of her time outside with us, which my vet has approved of. I was approached and told that we were banned from ever adopting there because our cat goes outside. Are you kidding me?? No further questions or clarifications asked. You can see in the pictures attached, that our cat has a pretty good life and we are the definition of a good home for an animal. I completely understand you need to be picky with homes that animals go to, however the lack of detail in their questioning is leading to good homes being turned away rather than bad ones. It breaks my heart that this place jeopardizing a shelter animals ability to get into a loving home. Negligence - Heartbroken to say the least. I am an advocate for animal adoption and I’m baffled by this places lack of screening and care to get these animals into loving homes.

We adopted a beautiful puppy from here 2 weeks ago. The process was very easy. All of our questions were answered thoroughly and without ridicule. Although puppy parenting comes with its challenges, he has settled into our home well and we adore him. He has helped bring light back into our lives after the loss of our 13 year old retriever/lab. He is an excellent companion for our 8 year old shepherd/lab!

We adopted a cat from here (previously Houdini, now known as Peaches) and absolutely loved all of the staff we spoke with. They made every step of the process as easy as possible and answered every question we had. The cat area was ABSOLUTELY SPOTLESS clean and didn't have your typical "shelter" smell either. All of the cats we saw were well groomed and cared for. The introduction room they took us to with our girl was spacious and clean with a nice cat tree and several toys so we could engage with Peaches. We will be returning for all of our additions to our family❤️

This place does good work but we have adopted very sickly cat from them that ended up passing away 3 months later. And I went to get flea and tick medicine for my cats and dogs. Called to head first they said yes everything was there drove over there and then they said no we're not going to sell that anymore and we don't have any in stock and told me to go to Petco. So they should tell their volunteers and employees what's in stock and what's not in stock if they're answering the phone and that way people don't waste a bunch of gas driving all the way in there to find out they just actually don't have it.

Had a really good experience going in yesterday, soon will be adopting a new kitten and I simply cannot wait. I unfortunately did not get names of the ladies working yesterday, but both of them were very sweet, kind and very much cared about the animals. The facility is very clean, spacious, and appropriate for the cats and dogs. Adopt a friend, you won’t regret it :)

Don’t go here if you actually want to give the dog a good life! They want them fenced in locked in cages 24/7. They denied my family with lots of land to run around and play because we use an electric fence. Even though we have adopted several animals from here and still have 1 from 14yrs ago. They don’t really care about the life the dog will live they want an apartment and small home small yard. These dogs will never go to good homes and live to their full potential:( sad but the management needs to get out of their feelings and actually use their brain and recognize when a dog will actually have a good home and life vs not!
