My extremely skiddish cat, Monster, had raw and open wounds on his torso that he would not let me examine. Dr. Wolkow was the only doctor onsite Friday and completely booked, but she made the time to fully examine and treat him ( under sedation upon my request..... he's easily traumatized!) When I picked him up at the end of the day, she carried Monster out to me and thoroughly explained the extent of his injuries and the treatment she had administered, as well as recommended follow -up care at home. It was obvious to me that Dr. Wolkow's compassion for other people's pets is genuine, and I knew I had brought Monster to the right place.
I found Belle Isle after taking my rescue pup to a couple of unscrupulous and expensive vets, and I’m so glad I found them. It’s been about eight years now and have consistently found the vets and staff to perform at a high level of compassionate care with very reasonable rates. I love that I can schedule appts, refill meds and ask questions over the app. I get responses quickly, even when submitting at the end of the day. They always fit me in with an emergency, the vets always spend extra time with me, and my pup, who doesn’t particularly like other humans, feels very comfortable with the vet techs. He lets them pet him and pick him up, which he does not even let my parents do. The vets and techs are all highly knowledgeable, skilled and good communicators. There were some slight growing pains with the front desk staff transition recently, however, it seems to have been sorted quickly; everyone now is very pleasant, reliable and knowledgeable. Over the years, I’ve recommended my family and friends to switch, and all have been very satisfied with its reasonable rates, convenient hours, and high quality care.
I absolutely LOVE this hospital and their staff. When I moved to sandy springs a few years ago, I had trouble finding a vet I loved as much as my old vet. I came across Belle Isle and have been taking both my dogs here and could not be happier. They are always thorough, caring, and I never feel rushed. Recently I had to take my dog for an all day procedure. Dr. Reinstein was so thorough, understanding and listened to my concerns before and after. Christina was also amazing and super nice. She eased my mind so much by explaining the procedure and giving me updates which helped because I was nervous leaving him. I always feel heard, and they seem honest about what my dogs need. I cannot recommend them enough. Thank you guys so much!!!!
Hi, my dog has been a patient for years at this vet. He has never had any serious issues occur. Recently he had a benign cyst appear; as a concerned dog owner I wanted it taken off. The front desk staff sent me the incorrect estimate twice. After the incident occurred, I had a very pleasant conversation with Heather who tried to help which I appreciate. I then spoke to Nyla to confirm the appointment and she was very rude to me backtracking what Heather said to me. I ended up canceling the appointment because it was an unpleasant and unprofessional experience. The front desk staff needs better customer service skills.
Before bringing my cat to this clinic, we sent a video of my cat coughing and a medical report/history to the clinic for analysis. We even had an annual check-up a few months ago at this clinic. They informed us in an email to bring the cat 'as soon as possible' as it was urgent. That's exactly how a scam would work, by creating urgency so we wouldn't think twice or have time to think. We brought our cat to the clinic and asked the doctor about the video and the medical report. The doctor didn't even read the report or see the video before rushing us to the clinic. It turned out it was just asthma, which we already knew during the annual check-up. They still had the audacity to charge us after doing nothing besides listening to the cat's heart rate and asking us a few questions. It was a waste of time, money, and energy due to unnecessary concerns. They have definitely lost us as long-term customers.
We are leaving this place, I should have done this awhile ago. I do not like the staff and their communication can be rude and insufficient. While Dr Taylor was great they need to hire new staff or train them better. I felt it’s all about money for them and felt rushed. You get charged for every little thing including a replacement surgery suit after neutering and boarding which wasn’t cheap you would think if my pup needed a new surgery suit less then 24 hours after picking him up they would just give me a replacement at no cost or a cone, but nope. I misinformed about the whole hospitalization boarding it was $ and they added $33 to administer medication after the neutering because i had my pup stay over two nights thinking he was in good hands, instead they didn’t explain the boarding costs or protocol hardly took him out and he got sick from their boarding over the weekend I have a very sick dog now. Again I feel they didn’t communicate and possibly didn’t want to disclose because extra money for them.
