So the other day, when they came to my trailer to tell me that I couldn't have the dog tethered up outside, because it was too hot, which by the way inside of the trailer it's at least 10 to 15 degrees hotter. my dog doesn't want to be inside of the trailer, he would rather be outside. I was at the store when they showed up, but when I rode up on my skateboard with my dog pulling me. I observed two of the animal control officers walking back to their truck. while the other one hung back and waited for us to ride by her. as we rode by her, she took her holstered stick out, and whacked my dog directly in the face to where he yelled out in pain, and I mean he yelled out in pain. She really swung that stick hard. My dog wasn't even paying any attention to her. And immediately I said why did you just hit my dog like that? And her response was she was making sure that he didn't come near her. I said I want your information, because I'd like to file a complaint. she then refused to give me her information. She immediately called the police, and then we waited for them to show up. when they got there she told the police that the dog was barking at her and nipping at her leg. Which is a lie and completely different story she told me. They don't feel like they have to be accountable for their actions, because they're all badge wearers, and they all stick together, but in the truth this is a coercion. which is a felony, and lying to a police officer and giving false information is also a crime, and not to mention the cruelty to animals from someone who's supposed to be protecting them, but they say where there's prey there will be predators. just like in daycare, in churches, and other situations where there can be a victim. So be aware and be careful and don't trust every animal control officer you come in contact with because there's some that are out there that aren't so pure of heart.
Daughter got bit by a neighbors pitbull. The animal control officer was more sympathetic to the dog owner than to me, whose daughter had deep bite marks from her dog. Whose daughter is now traumatized by the whole incident. It was a shocking response. There is no reprimanding and nothing that is done about dogs being off leashes and attacking children. She said it was up to the officers discretion whether or not to fine someone for an animal attack and she isn’t going to. This was an unprovoked attack to a child! This place is inept at handling animal control issues. I wish Clark county had better to offer than this.
Lesley was absolutely amazing. Animal Control came out to visit us after our dog bit someone (provoked). This is a visit I never wanted to receive and, to be honest, I was incredibly anxious when I saw the truck pull up. They were very kind and immediately let us know that our dog was safe (my biggest fear being that they would take him or euthanize). We received clear information about the report that was filed and excellent guidance about adhering to the quarantine. I truly appreciate the approach and information!
Unfortunately my dog attacked my neighbors dog and killed it and it’s the worst feeling ever to be the owner of a dog that has killed a very loved neighbor dog. Both my neighbor and I called animal control to report the situation and I spoke with a man named paul. Paul is outstanding!! Very kind and understanding and he was straight to the facts about what to expect and what comes next he didn’t shame us or put the fear of all the terrible things I was thinking. He also tried to communicate to my very upset neighbor that I’m willing to do anything to help with this situation although nothing can bring back his dog and that I feel awful about. Paul thank you for being so approachable and responding quickly.
My dog was tied up out front of the house. he was 20 feet at least from the sidewalk. this lady who was masked and had a cane she was waving around approached the dog for reasons i will never figure out. My dog bit her. I was very concerned because i love my dog and i do not want him to be put down. the above may not have gone exactly that way because that is what i heard from someone. Animal control show at the house and they were very professional and I'm very nice. My roommate told me maybe i should wait to talk with them but i needed to know what my dogs fate was. He was kept in home quarantine for 14 days. That is totally understandable as far as i am concerned. My dog does not usually bit. So i was able to do 14 days although he is stir crazy. The reason i posted this is to praise the two officers who showed up. Thank you for making a difficult time easier. I also want to say the lady who was bit did nor deserve that. Its A good lesson for all about approaching a strang dog on his property. Don't do it. i think she was lucky the dog was not a with issues, it would have been worse. I had my ear bit off by a strange dog in my yard. That's a whole different story i will not tell now. Thanks guys.
I have called on two separate animal events in the past month and I was greeted with compassion, care and a huge sense of urgency and consideration for my concerns. Each time an officer responded on the scene within an hour and promptly handled the situation with skill and care. I will forever be grateful for the wonderful team of police dispatchers, animal control dispatchers and the incredible officers that work with Clark County Animal Control. Thank you all for saving the animals in our community!
