I adopted a cat from here back in August. The staff were very courteous. The animals here are treated with incredible attention and love. When I adopted my cat they sent me home with a carrier and a bag of food she was fed during her stay at the shelter. They also spayed, vaccinated, and gave my cat a health check prior to putting her up for adoption. That made the first vet visit go very smoothly. If you’re looking to adopt a cat or any other animal in Pittsburgh, come here first! For a first time cat owner, they made the process of adopting seamless, and Marshmellow is very happy at her new home. THANK YOU to the staff the Pittsburgh Humane Animal Rescue!

Wonderful experience adopting a kitten. We went during business hours on a week day. The staff were professional and knowledgeable and the animals are obviously well taken care of. These kittens came in with scabies and all kinds of problems and received amazing healthcare. We named our kitten Opal. This our 2nd really great experience with HARP adoptions.

Easy to find and to park in the secure parking lot. I was not able to enter the building as signs were up about 'full capacity and only open on adoption days'. I had a few bags of towels and blankets to donate, so I left them at the front door. I don't know if the workers saw me or not, but I saw them behind the counter, talking, and not paying attention to me and another couple there to donate items. I gave it a five star rating because I like the mission and wish these animals well. Also because there was easy parking in a busy area, which made it easy to donate.

Was cat we found we think got hit by a car we hope no human being broke its back its hips were broken He's such a sweetheart he was starved to death took care of him for 2 days called around to every animal place I could possibly call nobody would come and get him we didn't have a vehicle so he sat in pain at our house for almost 2 days no one would help us then finally we were able to get to the animal rescue soon as we went in they were very polite sweet very attentive quickly observed that he needed immediate attention one of the employees volunteered take him straight to the hospital so now we are hoping we could possibly after he gets better Foster him until he's able to find a good home I give them five stars I understand that they stay busy but I had asked if I could call and check on him she said that they may not return my call My only thing I would suggest is if someone wanted to call and check on an animal that they brought in and possibly Foster them if not adopt them I would think they would want to keep in contact with the people I can understand them being busy but it would take 5 minutes to return a call or just say he's doing well I'm not sure if we can go up and check on him and visit him as he heals I have to call and ask about that most most of the employees there were polite when the one employee tried to put him into another carrier she dropped him I was kind of upset about that I feel like they could use a little bit more training on how to pick up a hurt animal and properly placed them into a carrier for transportation I thought she could be a little bit more nicer as well she just seemed like she had a little bit of an attitude or maybe just wasn't having a very good day other than that five stars

I found this place last minute. I saw the cat named Caleb online and went to see him same day. In all my years of owning cats, I have never met one nicer. He is very sweet and outgoing. He is in good health and keeps me in my toes. It has only been two days and I feel like I have made the right decision. I am from Maryland. I went to shelters that gave me sick cats. I went to three different shelters on two different sides of Maryland. Only to have loss those cats to their medical issues. Caleb is a breath of fresh air. I would recommend this location for adopting animals. The staff is friendly. The process is quick. And you don’t have a long wait. In Maryland, I had to wait four hours to adopt a cat. And then I had to return the cat because it was violent. So, I post this review as someone with experiences with sick cats, cats infested with fleas beyond what frontline plus could correct, cats so violent that I had to call animal control to remove the animal, and cats that I took back the same week because they weren’t properly socialized. This place is different. They truly care about their animals. If I ever want to adopt again, I will go here.

This place has given me and my 3 pups the best of care through their association with the Street Dog Coalition..providing free care, vaccinations, and spay/neuter to the homeless and those with unstable housing. God Bless Them All!!
