I loved hanging out with all of their kitties! All of them were so sweet. We're unable to adopt right now. But this is where we will head to when we're ready. I liked how appointments aren't necessary. And cost is your donation, not a set price.

Absolutely in love with this place. Cats soothe my soul and I love taking a few minutes to de-stress with furry friends. Highly recommend the twice per month yoga offering!

Edit: Following the clinic debacle, Animal Friends has had to set a hard limit on their future clinics of 3 pets - proof that my recounting was true, and that Rescue and Relax was acting unreasonably. Rescue and Relax took over a free vaccine clinic hosted by local rescue Animal Friends. The clinic is intended for low income individual pet owners, but Rescue and Relax brought over 20 cats to the clinic, arriving before the clinic opened to ensure they got priority. As a result, the wait became hours long in the heat. The line had elderly and disabled people in it as well as many cats who eventually began distressing. Rescue and Relax took advantage of a free community service so they wouldn't have to pay a business expense. To add insult to injury, staff from Rescue and Relax began to lecture the volunteers from Animal Friends about how to run the clinic efficiently, how to keep animals cool, and what they should do next time. It was sheer hubris to not realize they were the cause of the delay. What they did was steal from a rescue instead of either going through proper channels to partner with that rescue, calling to ask about bringing in a large group for vaccinations, or finding a way to pay for a business expense legitimately as a course of business. Worst of all, the 20+ cats were never checked on. For over an hour they were kept under plastic sheeting while in their carriers. One cat was in a backpack instead of a carrier and kept paying at one of the only 2 airholes, trying to get more air. Cats that were finished were put in a vehicle without a human inside and left there. It was over an hour before staff thought to turn the a/c on. Today was HOT. Absolutely appalling that they would take advantage of Animal Friends and of the community; that they would flaunt their 'business' and pass out business cards while everyone in line was pissed off at them; and most of all, that they would neglect the lovely creatures in their care while, at the same time, blissfully unaware of the people and cats waiting in line behind them. Shameful! Updating: The owner responded to me and said, "We're sorry that bringing our rescue cats and kittens inconvenienced you while you waited in line at the free clinic," with the implication being that I and all the others who use the free clinic due to poverty get what we deserve, even if it's waiting in line for hours. One last point is that if Animal Friends -knew- that more than twenty extra cats would be attending, all at once, it's highly likely they would have made separate arrangements - separate staff, different day or time, something. It's unlikely they'd say to just bring them in the line, because the line is NOT set up for that scale. My guess? Maybe someone from RaR called AF and asked if they could bring their business' cats, but did not specify how many it would actually be. Volunteers were very vocal about not being prepared for that many cats to show up all at once, and AF is really good at what they do, so it's unlikely they just dropped the ball. Take that as you will.

Rescue and Relax is an amazing safe haven for cats. From kittens to seniors, the health and safety of the animals is a top priority. The team of volunteers that run the place are deeply passionate and ooze love for their rescues and eachother. It's a family in there. Photos from my recent visit during open hours!!!

All the volunteers are so nice, we fostered a "problem" cat and they were very upfront about his behavior and the fact he was on calming medication. Well turns out he fit right in with my wife and I we adopted him, got him off the calming meds and he is wonderful! Can't recommend this place enough. Even if you can't foster/adopt please donate what you can.
