Description Altered Tails is the largest non-profit spay/neuter organization in Arizona. We are Humane Alliance- accredited and offer high-quality, affordable spay and neuter services. Our surgeons are experienced specialists and through our three clinics, sterilized almost 23,000 dogs and cats in 2017. Since 2003, more than 200,000 dogs and cats have benefited from our services.

My neighbor found a sick, stray dog roaming the streets of Tempe. She knew if she took her to the shelter, that she would likely be euthanized, so she took matters into her own hands. After a couple animal hospital and vet visits, it was confirmed that the dog had pyometra and needed immediate surgery. Not only was it devastating to watch an animal suffer, but the cost to save her life was exorbitant. My friend was recommended to Altered Tails. The experience at Altered Tails was EXCEPTIONAL. These people truly, TRULY care about animals. Not only did they do the surgery at an affordable price, but every single person we interacted with were phenomenal. We felt a major sense of relief here - it literally brought tears to my eyes. Thank you to every single person who helped us and saved this dog’s life. The doctor, the techs, the girl who helped us at the front desk. Everyone! You are all so amazing. Thank you for what you do.

Did a few TNR with some community/stray cats from my area. Staff was extremely helpful & kind in explaining how to set humane traps, walked me through the process on how to care for cat prior/post surgery. Very thankful to know there are hardworking people out there who also care for the well-being of the free-roaming cats.

We were a little nervous to take our kitty to the clinic for her spay versus going to her regular vet. But, we had an awesome experience! No issues (on her second week of recovery), and now she is all up to date on her vaccinations as well. Awesome price! :) Only issue was getting her to take her medicine post op..LOL

Was a little bit hard to find where to go for vaccine clinic. You're supposed to drive to the back to drop off and then drive to the front to pay and pick up.. it's a long way around to the back with no signs but there's a little fenced in area you pull into. Aside from feeling lost momentarily, it was a much better experience than the vaccine clinic at Petco. Maybe I was just really lucky that it was practically empty, but I was in and out quickly with my dog. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Thank you!

I have taken so many cats here and every time they take such good care of my fur babies! The staff there are all very knowledgeable and caring. It's always a great experience when I go there.

Great place to take your pets. Employees are fantastic and loving to your pets when you drop them off and pick them up. If something extra needs to be done, they call to ask if it's ok to proceed, I really appreciated that. Would definitely bring my pet to them again!
