I went up there to meet a dog that I thought might fit in with one of my pups. It didn't seem to work out, so I asked if they had any other huskies or high-energy dogs. They brought out "Sprite," and we did the foster to adopt route. I highly recommend that for EVERYONE. Also, please make sure you talk to a dog trainer if you are bringing home any shelter dog into a house with dogs already. Currently, Sprite is now Bruce. And we officially adopted him after having him for 9 days. We are working with a trainer to help acclimate him and my other male husky to getting along. Patience is definitely needed when bringing in a shelter dog. Honestly, Bruce has been the best. It's my dog giving us issues. Go figure. Anyways, everyone up there was super nice. I did feel it was way easier to adopt than other rescues I've adopted from before. I wish there was more of a screening process. But I understand with them having so many animals, they just want them in homes. These are the photos I took him up there to officially adopt him!

They work hard for our community to take care of lost pets and pets looking for a home. So many great animals to choose from. Come adopt your new fur ever family member today!

I went to see about fostering and the staff were nice but not helpful. I asked about older dogs and they didn't know. They told me to just go look. I expressed that I was hesitant. My dog had just passed, and I explained this. Sure enough, it was too much. So many wonderful dogs, full of love and life jumping up on the gate, wanting to be loved. A few cowered, clearly afraid of being in the shelter, and some didn't even look up.... as though they had given up hope. I left with tears streaming down my face. I think the staff are doing the best they could, but I would suggest creating a roster of older dogs, puppies, dogs good with cats, etc. And when someone has a specific request, have a volunteer introduce those dogs. The idea of just having people walk through 50 dogs might work for some but for me it didn't. I felt helpless and like how could I just pick one?

Recently had to turn a cat attacked by a Raccoon over to Mr Ray with animal services. Mr Ray was more than comforting and sad along with me. I wish all animal care people were like Mr Ray!

My grandson and I had a wonderful time. There are so many beautiful angels just looking for happiness. Forget dating apps, adopt a lifelong partner. :)

I volunteer at shelters and for rescue groups. I was asked to pick up a dog for transport at this shelter. Upon arrival, I let the ladies at the front desk know which dog I was there for and why. They immediately let me know that the person I needed to coordinate with would be right with me but she stepped away from the desk for a minute. While I waited, I noticed dogs in the lobby, each in their own cage, and I took the opportunity to show them attention. One in particular piqued my interest so after coordinating pickup for the pup I was transporting, I asked to see her. I see and deal with a variety of dogs so it didn't take me long to know she was coming home with me. I took her back inside and a very nice gentleman found just the right collar for her to go home in. I signed her paperwork and I signed the transport paperwork, paid and we were out of there. To anyone who has anything negative to say about this shelter, I encourage you to volunteer for even a day. Try that and see if your feedback changes. To anyone who has anything negative to say about the staff, try to have a little empathy for what they do. They aren't customer service representatives. They're doing their best to care for animals that others have neglected to care for and until you've done it, you'll never know how truly taxing it is. Be kind. And if you can't help, be grateful for the ones that do.
